DC 25,164
Ever since day 1 () when I first heard 911, the chorus struck my heart. I don’t know why, but that melody on the chorus sounds SO sad to me, like I hear pain from the past, and laziness with the monotone, it’s almost a little heartbroken, like when you break up with someone and you just feel “empty,” yeah that’s what this chorus to me sounds like. I needed this song in my life, it has a perfect mixture of chill and sadness to it, I can listen to it when I’m happy and when I’m feeling sad, but like I said, that chorus melody is one of the saddest vocals within this whole era that I’ve heard so far. The more I watch people’s reactions however, no one I’ve seen has thought that way yet, they either comment on the lyric My Biggest Enemy Is Me, or the robotic effect. Does ANYONE here find the chorus on 911 sounding emotional or sad? I can’t be the only one that thinks this
27monster27 12,387
It really can be. Same thing with the Gimme More chorus. he/him/his
socotra 3,291
YES! so melancholic and sad, especially the "Please patch the line" at the end – I'm not sure what it is about that line, but the way she sings it is just devastating. it's totally sounds like she's at the end of her rope and has nowhere left to turn, "Please patch the line"
SLAG 7
Not really. The lyrics are deep and dark. I'd say when she starts singing "Please patch the line" near the end if any. It gives the feeling of desperation and fear.
imnotyourbabe10 6,081
Agreed! Really find Chromatica to be such an emotional record -- given its themes (from mental health to existentialism and love) set against non-stop dance.

Sneaky Oliver 21,879
I do agree her voice sounds very melancholic especially in the “please patch the line!” lyric!
MaybeKermit 4,502
Well tbh the chorus is the only part of the song I dont like... And I get what she's trying to do with it (verses + pre chorus are very agressive and intense), and it all builds up to that "monotonous" chorus to "mimick" the idea of being lazy and fed up and to fall back into that "depression"/negative space HOWEVER, sonically it just annoys me tbh and it is the only reason I dont listen to 911 that much anymore even though the verses are GREAT. And the pre chorus is probably one of my favs she's ever done (I cant see me cry,....) I just wish the chorus was a huge beat dark beat drop (in the veins of Bad Guy) Edit: I actually wantes to make an edit of 911 with a nice dark drop in the chorus to see what it would sound like. Now, I'm not a dj or anything lol but lmk if you want me to tag you once I post it here on GGD
Born in Chromatica 7
I have that same feeling as well. It is definitely one of the saddest songs on the album and I feel with the robotic vocals, it is almost like she is trying to disguise her sadness, but she really has no hope left. GagaSine 7,464
Yeah I relate to it deeply, so my pain combined with the fact that based on the lyrics Gaga feels a similar pain makes me very emotional.

That would be awesome!

HeavyMetalLover 16
Kind of. It has a lot of attitude and an aggressive sort of vibe to it that’s also a little “over it” feeling. It does have a sad/exhausted feeling when the production is stripped away and you focus on the lyrics and some of the vocals. i don't remember ARTPOP
