I’m so behind on Janet’s discography, I was a huge MJ stan as a kid so most of my exposure to her has been through that. I LOVE The Velvet Rope though

Idk how I forgot about Discipline too, stanned that album very hard in 2008

This is my Favorite Janet Jackson video. Janet is one of the greatest female entertainers in the game and the best dancer ever. She has a solid discography. Her music discography consists of high energy dance pop songs, smooth, sensual midtempo tracks and emotional ballads. She is not Whitney Houston or Celine Dion when it comes to her vocal capabilities but she has such an anelic and smooth voice. She has the best harmonies and background vocals in pop music. Her greatest works to me and my personal favorite records that she release are Velvet Rope, Rhythm Nation, and Janet. I love all her albums and can play them all without skipping a track. Her music is timeless and like expensive wine and a five star cuisine.

Janet is the epitome and class and creativity when she’s on her game.  She was unstoppable from ‘86 - ‘04, then struggled creatively for a while, disappeared for a while, then came back full force in 2015.  At her peak, she always came out with something fresh and exciting,  and her partnership with producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis is legendary.  Truly, If you listen closely to the production value in those albums during the years above, as as well as 2015’s Unbreakable, it honestly a whole other level from everyone else.  Speaking of Unbreakable, THERE is a piece of art.  Everyone must listen to that album and read along with the lyrics.  Janet’s never been a power house singer by any means, but she’s a killer artist through and through and will move you emotionally and definitely physically.

Janet is amazing! One of my all time faves. The albums Control, Rhythm Nation, janet. and The Velvet Rope are flawless.

As a long time JJ Stan, that album‘a a total skip for me.  Couldn’t even tell you the names of the songs on it.  It just pales in comparison to Rhythm Nation, Janet., Velvet Rope (OMG) and All For You.  That’s when she was still struggling post Super Bowl and kind of lost her way.

My fav's sister, of course we have to stan

Oddly enough, my first exposure to the queen was from Good Times. Even though I was raised on MJ's music, it was her playing Penny (I think that was her name ) that I remember most from when I was little. My grandma loves that show and so do I

When I got older, I was happy to discover that unlike other Jackson family members, Michael and Janet didn't have a strained relationship. They were besties

And her discography is full of bangers so, again, there is no choice but to stan the legendary miss Janet Jackson. There's something to be said about her being able to shine as brightly as she does even next to the supernova that is her brother's legendary career :flutter:

Love love love her discography. She makes amazing records that always flow so well. Her work is definitely underrated.

(Still salty at her for canceling the European tour she was gonna do in 2015. And then saying she would make it up to is. And then went on to do another like 3 tours in the US :triggered:)

For me, it was an experience after All For Me. I couldn't enjoy the previous two efforts of her before Discipline.

That depends on which songs of those you like and didn't like. But assuming you liked them all I'd recommend her biggest hits.

- Nasty (Control era)

- When I Think Of You (Control)

- Let's Wait A While (Control)

- Miss You Much (Rhythm Nation era)

- Love Will Never Do (Rhythm Nation)

- Again (Janet. era)

- Whoops Now (Janet. era)

- Runaway (Design of a Decade era)

- Together Again (The Velvet Rope era)

- I Get Lonely (The Velvet Rope)

- Doesn't Really Matter (All For You era)

- All For You (All For You)

- Someone To Call My Lover (All For You)

- All Nite (Damita Jo era)

- I Want You (Damita Jo)

- Feedback (Discipline)

- No Sleeep (Unbreakable era)

- Unbreakable (Unbreakable)

Depending on the songs you like the most, I'd try its parent album. Except for Discipline, Feedback is one of the only 3 good songs on it.

They shipped it, but it got shipped back
