BLACKPINK shifted the K-pop industry once BOOMBAYAH came out. Ever since then, the trend of having no chorus became existent.

People use the term cultural reset so loosely. The last one we had was honestly Gaga’s debut up until TFM.

That was a 180 paradigm shift that we haven’t seen since.

Y’all think everything is a cultural reset mentioning most random performers that literally had no impact outside of y’all’s “alternative” bubbles. The only female pop stars that shaped music industry are Madonna, Britney and Gaga. Every other female artist is not it and had no real impact. Beyonce is close but she never actually did anything that shaped the industry. As for male artists. Definitely Beatles, Elvis and Michael.

Adele's 21 was a cultural reset. Up until that moment the music industry consisted of pop EDM songs and it completely shifted to ballads and minimalist production after 21.

I'm not really a Beyonce fan but that is bs, her solo debut, Lemonade and when she dropped the visual album were huge moments in pop music history and shaped the industry.

Shaped it how exactly? Did people suddenly start making visual albums? I don’t get it. Also - no one outside the USA cared about those two records.
