As reported by the Tampa Bay Times, the man, Phillip A. Thomas II, began planning the abduction eight months ago. They got their information from the police department.

The report states that Thomas parked his car and walked to the home before waiting on the patio for three to four hours. He cut a hole in the screen door to watch and listen into the house before entering the home at 2:34 am, setting off a security alarm. Thomas then fled in a car while the homeowner called 911. He had a knife, zip ties, mace and duct tape in his possession.

Thomas has been charged with aggravated stalking, armed burglary of a dwelling, attempted armed kidnapping, and criminal mischief. As of the report, he is being held without bail. Sheriff Chad Chronister had the following to say in the news release:

“Our deputies are unveiling the suspect’s disturbing obsession with this homeowner who he had never met, but stalked on social media for years. It’s frightening to think of all the ways this incident could have played out had the home alarm not gone off and alerted the homeowner of an intruder.”

Thomas’ Twitter account contains mainly tweets and messages about the activities of Sonya Deville. We will provide updates on the situation as they become available.

Sister

Frightening. But imagine this loser, what if she physically beat him up? She is a wrestler, it would be a possibility to most people. Glad she is safe and things worked out in the end.

The future's uncertain and the end is always near.
