To be fair (and I speak of Lebanon only because I'm from there) we are not treating them much better. True we're not shooting them, but the amount of hate Lebanese people have for refugees is disgusting. They're treated like subhumans by everyone, especially politicians, and everything is blamed on them in order to remove accountability from the failed government. Literally 2 days after the explosion we had politicians hinting at throwing blame on them for the "crisis" and one of them quite literally told Macron that we need to solve that issue otherwise they'll end up going to France (and ruining it). Refugees can never catch a f*cking break and people really think they enjoy being refugees i genuinely don't get it. F*ck fictional borders. Lebanon is right NEXT to Syria and they had to assist. Turkey is a MUCH bigger country, with over 70 million population, a MUCH better economy up till now and far more fire power. None of those two examples compares fairly. And NO one said I approve or ask for refugees to be shot or let to die. I AM a refugee myself. Funny how big powerful western countries can cause so much evil on a massive scale but small, economically tired countries can cope criticism as if they are the monsters. Greece HAS taken a big share and helped many. They cannot do much more. The refugees don’t even want to stay in Greece, the want to move on to Germany or England. And those much richer, much more powerful countries do not want more refugees as they also claim they reached their thresholds. So what happens in the end? Refugees are stuck in Greece with no work, no way of making decent money and yet cannot exit towards other countries because they simply aren’t allowed. So please, don’t just get angry at the Greek people as if they are cold blooded killers. They are also in misery for the most part and despair.
