Sure but I'm also sure it isn't a big deal to at least let them live on the street/forest/whatever land.

It actually is, and Paris is a perfect evidence of this.

It’s about distance, it’s easier if Europe takes care of these immigrants and that Asia takes care of others more nearby

Yes of course i understand you but like we need some sort of system to help them because we can’t just keep pushing in more and more because countries systems cannot handle all that, so we need some other stuff to solve, sadly not all immigrants can be helped

We sent ships to Mars, in 2020  distance doesn't matter
It's just easier to blame Europe instead of trying to solve the problem :trollga:

This is disgusting. Can everyone please join me in tweeting Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Twitter to hold him accountable?

There's not much I can say when there are people that see them as trash instead of humans.

People will donate millions to politician's campaigns, rebuilding of churches, modern religious indoctrination missions, and even individuals whose only "function" in society is being rich and known.

People will spend millions in anti-homeless architecture, spend millions to build and abandon entire cities in less than one year just for a one-time event, and toss away millions in perfectly consumable food and goods every day.

But when it comes to finding a way to help a few people seeking shelter from war, "we can't help everyone, we need to help ourselves first".

I agree with you, but this is one of purposes of country. Once again, I don't think these things will change soon.

You’ve obviously never been to these islands where refugees are arriving on. They’re tiny pieces of land, very mountainous & consist of small villages with limited food & medicine supplies. They’re also home to generational families. Refugees - aside from the land - have zero opportunity there & no access to food, water, medicine & shelter. It’s a huge problem because these refugees are then forced to get what they need one way or another. Violence, theft, robbery, looting.. all common place now. Some of these islands are empty of Greeks now & exist  only as refugee holding places. Greece is bankrupt.. what can it do to help these people? It can’t even fund itself / my elderly family there aren’t able to get their pension money to live off.

Im not making excuses for this incident, it’s truly saddening to read. Context here is important though, & nothing about this situation is easy for Greece. It’s not their issue - the world (particularly the EU here, NEEDS to step in).

as someone who‘s living in a central European country I am absolutely disgusted by the inaction of the EU. This only happens because authorities are willing to let these things happen. Because the mainstream media had stopped giving attention. Most people living here are so brainwashed that everytime they read about migrants you can already sense the anti-mindset. The conservative parties who declare advocating for Christian values can go **** themselves. They are the ones who are willing to partnership with far winged parties. They are the ones who are looking away just to stay in power. They are the ones who are putting money over humanity. They are the criminals. This isn‘t far away from the cruelties people had to go through during Holocaust and yet they still keep giving speeches about how „something like the Holocaust must not happen again at any chance“ every year, well here we are. The world is so ****ed up and I am full of anger when I see these pictures because if these were white people there would be an international outrage in the media and the people being responsible for those crimes were dragged to court.

But a different skin colour than white and nationality is enough to be criminalized and your dignity being departed.

As a Greek citizen I'm disgusted by the amount of cruelty the officials have. I'm angry that these stupid and ignorant people are killing refugees so easily. The only one we have to blame is the government, definetely the worst we had in years. Greek people don't know anything about these acts, because the news will not say anything about it (the media are controlled by the government right now).

When we're not together tell me everything's gonna be alright

To be fair (and I speak of Lebanon only because I'm from there) we are not treating them much better. True we're not shooting them, but the amount of hate Lebanese people have for refugees is disgusting. They're treated like subhumans by everyone, especially politicians, and everything is blamed on them in order to remove accountability from the failed government. Literally 2 days after the explosion we had politicians hinting at throwing blame on them for the "crisis" and one of them quite literally told Macron that we need to solve that issue otherwise they'll end up going to France (and ruining it). Refugees can  never catch a f*cking break and people really think they enjoy being refugees i genuinely don't get it. F*ck fictional borders.

You would think that after the Armenian Genocide and the Holocaust we would have learned by now that making scapegoats out of ethnic groups isn't a good idea.
