I can't find the interview but she's flip flopped on Telephone so many times over the years.

She does that with vast majority of her music and albums so when I enjoy hearing the meanings of the songs, her opinions of her work don't always align with how I personally feel about it as a fan and listener.

She claims there are too many ideas in the Telephone video, yet it's one of the best videos she's ever made objectively. She can't watch the Telephone video, but she made the Million Reasons video. :poot:

Ive always found her opinions on her work to be very interesting.

I've noticed this more as well, especially after the first two Gaga Radio episodes. She has multiple meanings for many of her songs - which is cool and shows depth, to me anyway. I think she's the type that sees patterns in everything, so it's not useful for her to have to put a single label on everything. I think it's beautiful.

i don't remember ARTPOP

I agree. With Judas, i've noticed she has multiple meanings of the song. The most obvious is betrayal and struggles, but during an interview with FuseTv (i think), she talks about how the song is her own input of religion or something like this. It fascinates me so much.

I get the idea that the song was originally written in a time where she was just trying to write pop bangers to sell to bigger artists. That the song was originally just written about a clingy (maybe over-protective or even abusive) boyfriend who wouldn't leave her alone when she was trying to party with her the girls, or even about ignoring your responsibilities when your at the club and putting them off, and when she decided to use it for TFM she kind of forced the 'fear of suffocation' idea... but it still works in that context

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

She should stop performing it tbh. It's been on every tour since TMB and I don't think it's that special to be perfomed that much. I'd rather habe Monster or DITD

¿Qué currículum tiene ésta tarántula?

I dont think there's some deep meaning behind Telephone. Since it was originally for Britney, I think she wrote just a basic fun pop song for her. Did she ever say why she wanted it back?

Either way, I think this whole "fear of suffocation" only came to be so that she has an explanation on why it's on the Fame Monster. It still sonically doesn't belong on it.

“I hate ‘Telephone.’ Is that terrible to say? It’s the song I have the most difficult time listening to,” Gaga said. “Ultimately the mix and the process of getting the production finished was very stressful for me. So when I say it’s my worst song it has nothing to do with the song, just my emotional connection to it.”

She also elaborated:

“I can’t even watch the ‘Telephone’ video, I hate it so much,” she told Time Out London in 2011. “Beyoncé and I are great together, but there are so many f—ing ideas in that video and all I see in that video is my brain throbbing with ideas. I wish I had edited myself a little bit more.””

So why did you perform it at the superbowl miss gagita? Applause would have been better anyway
