I have a close friend whose cousin died in ICE custody. I would personally feel very uncomfortable asking her to subdue her emotional response to these news because it is undignified or because we shouldn't make light of someone's death. Her response to this is completely unsympathetic, maybe you would characterize it as "gross", and I don't think anyone has any right to tell her she should be silent and should just keep her feelings quiet, that feels a lot like gaslighting. I think there's a difference between being unsympathetic or indifferent and celebrating death and I think that's what the users are getting at I'm not inclined to feel sorry for Trump or most of their family myself nor do I think anyone has some kind of obligation to offer emotional condolences. For starters, even if he was a great man none of us know him personally. Add to that he's a terrible monster none of us know personally. We don't owe him anything emotionally But it doesn't mean u celebrate a death either. I think the appropriate thing here if u don't feel sympathetic for Trump is to just not say anything and be neutral about it That's how I see it. Ur arguing why should u feel sympathy for him and the users are telling u you should... There is a middle ground here. It doesn't have to be one or the other. U can be indifferent about it. Or if your incapable of feeling indifferent about it because of hatred because of how him and his family affected u, then at the very least maybe just not vocalize it in this moment. SissyFromSpace 20,884
didn't trump just say a few days ago "it is what is it" in reference to the nearly millions who have died from Covid19? I'm not saying its okay to be disrespectful but how do some of you guys expect for people to react? Barbie elitist - Weaboo - Sissy

KillerMonster 2,361
Some of y’all are disgusting. We all know the Trumps aren’t good people, but it makes you as bad as they are for being happy that a person has died. I thought La mansion Gaga would be better than that. Don’t play with me, it just hurts me.

Love reactions on this site seem to also be used a lot for showing support. I personally find it weird but the point is I don't think all love reactions are coming from a place of Malace I just didn't react at all. I can't really feel sorry for someone like Trump or his brother for that matter but I don't wanna celebrate a death either. So I'm just not reacting and being neutral... Trust me I hate Trump, it just morally doesn’t feel right for users to celebrating his brother’s death. That karma can come back on us.
HeavyMetalLover 16
What I wasn’t able to articulate so well last night is that displays of hatred and gloating over someone’s death is unacceptable. I’m not going to debate what’s “decent” behavior, because that should be common sense. It has little to do with cultural norms - hateful is hateful. You can’t expect others to be open minded towards such extreme negativity. And they’re not obligated to entertain it. No one is trying to tell people to have sympathy for this family, but to stop with the unnecessary hatred. It’s not called for or cute, even when it comes to these people. You are entitled to your feelings but how you express yourself is totally on you. Grow tf up. i don't remember ARTPOP

I don’t think any Republican deserves to be treated humanly, let alone Trump of all people. Republicans are COMPLETELY dissociated from the human experience and the common good. They don’t have an OUNCE of empathy in their body. I wish natural selection would do its job on them, but that’s not possible, so my dream is to see them all imprisoned. Call me a monster, idc.
