The EU is also launching antitrust probes into the App Store. Epic will probably win this fight, Apple will get hate from the fans and the public, which mainly plays Fortnite I like dancin', and ponies.... The app store is the only entry point to touch the millions of iOS user and on top of that you have only one way to process in-app purchases with a whooping 30% tax from Apple. Apple is in a position of monopoly and abuse it as the company also distributes apps on the store. Spotify also called out Apple on that. They have to give 30% to Apple and compete against Apple Music who also has to give 30% to... itself. It's very problematic when it comes to fair competition. I won't go deeper on Apple and the app stores because it's been YEARS of abusive actions from Apple toward independent developpers or bigger corporation (going from abusive bans to technology stealing) Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

I download Fortnite on the Play store. You can't download it on a Chromebook, if that's what you mean because it's not compatible with ChromeOS. I believe Apple is currently under investigation for antitrust, partially to do with cutting special deals with Amazon. That sounds like an exception to me. Yeah, it hurts Apple's income but whether or not they enforced their rules is going to make them lose that money regardless because people are going to go with the cheaper option for the same amount which Apple gets none of. Keep in mind I dont like Epic at all (severely overworked employees underpaid for the hours they put in, shoddy practices to pull business from competitors, etc).
