JRCF29 8,230
Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), a former Harvard professor and most recently a candidate in the 2020 Democratic Primary, is trending on Twitter just minutes after Joe Biden, the presumptive Democratic nominee for President, selected Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA) as his running mate. Warren ran in the same lane as Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT), focusing on the environment and universal healthcare- and sparring with the self-described "democratic socialist" throughout the race. Judging by the social media reaction, many progressive liberals were hoping that Warren would get the second-in-command spot and help to fire up a base of voters largely apathetic towards Biden and his brand of establishment politics. Some users have pushed the idea of a Majority Leader Warren, but many more would like to see her in Biden's cabinet, and still others mocked her for toning down her left-wing bona fides in an apparent effort to get selected as VP in the first place Don't Call Me Gaga
Othon 34,299
She really helped the party bury Bernie when he wanted to make her both Vice President and Treasury Secretary. Congrats, I guess?
Eighteen 5,430
i was for elizabeth warren, but we're trying to win right now. and it seems to be that a POC was necessary considering all that's going on. she would be better fitted as treasury sec. anyway. biden should announce some of his cabinet picks before the election. like a warren pick for TS would lock in some progressives i think. REALITY 80,181
Twitter is full of nonsense. It's just a bunch of people trying to "speak their mind" without actually doing anything anyway. If people are outraged, why didn't they vote for Bernie or Liz during the primaries? It's like, they talk, and talk, and talk, but there's no action. Also though, while Warren is more progressive than the other candidates for VP, she still cozies up to establishment Dems when it benefits her. 𝔗𝔥𝔢 𝔪𝔬𝔫𝔰𝔱𝔢𝔯 𝔱𝔬𝔯𝔢 𝔞𝔴𝔞𝔶 𝔦𝔱𝔰 𝔪𝔞𝔰𝔨 𝔞𝔫𝔡...𝔦𝔱𝔰 𝔣𝔞𝔠𝔢 𝔴𝔞𝔰 𝔪𝔦𝔫𝔢. melodichard 3,769
She will surely have a big influence on the administration, assuming she is not a part of it herself.
StarstruckIllusion 53,580
LMAOO oh yes she is the moment The way she purposefully put snake emojis above getting everyone healthcare when the neolibs were coalescing really cancelled her for me. I think she’s an okay candidate, but when she added all those Obama staffers and her platform ran to the right, it really ruined her campaign. Thinking about how being a progressive spoiler not being worth it, is the only positive info learned today

Because there’s this popular myth that moderate Dems can beat republicans. Everyone cares deeply about the issues but defeating Trump stays number one. Bernie should have fought harder for his electability case bc polls did show he could have beat Trump in the winter. Now? A shoe could. Makes it even more sad and puts into question the relevance of “electability” tbh...

He kept saying, "my friend Joe," and "Joe can defeat Trump." Like, if Joe can do it, why are you there Bernie? I also hate that a lot of people force Dems to think that they have to be moderate in order to win when Republicans aren't given that same criteria.
