Seriously (American) guys, your country is literally a MESS! I completely changed my mind this year, I really do NOT want to visit U.S. for any reason!:saladga:

Ok- this is so dramatic. Most people don’t come across this stuff in America. Hey how is a news story that of course becomes sensationalized just so people like you can say things like “I’m scared to come to America”. The truth is, most Americans aren’t coming in contact with this type of violence- but the news spreads like wildfire on sites like these and creates sensationalism. As long as you stay out of bad neighborhoods of lost inner cities, your chances of violence are slim to none.

The fact this is a story that would not be worth hearing about in other states just tells you how ****ed this country is.

If this happens in Canada, no matter the province, it will be talked about for years. The same way we had a mass shooting in 89' and it's still being talked about, whereas in the US you have one every. ****ing. day.

The US is literally a ****ing mess and there is NOTHING you can say to defend it. NOTHING.

I’m from the US and live in Florida. It is a ****ing mess here.

Still, this **** happens once in a bluemoon in every sane country. In the US it's a daily occurance.

The murderer was not caucasian :spin:

Most murders are not commited by Caucasians. Sensationalism makes you think that Caucasians are walking around commiting mass shootings daily- when in fact- most murders are coming from inner cities.

This would be a news story in any US state. The OP of that post made the false equivalency that freedom of information laws = crime reporting. Crimes are open to be reported in any state and journalists have access to public information. Freedom of information laws just mean anyone can request public state, county, or municipal files without a reason--meaning I could file to see public county spending records.

Florida is not a mess because their public records are easily accessible. It's a mess because state and local laws continually fail its citizens mental health, safety, et al.
