I didn't get to see the photo but I'm guessing it's classy and understated elegance which is how I perceive Valentino to be.

Apparently Valentino is reporting all the accounts who posted the picture.

All I ever wanted was love...

Yeah pretty much exactly that. Was always expecting something classy and sophisticated. However what we got is quite “on the nose” so to speak. Something like the Eau De Gaga photoshoot would’ve been a serve. That shoot was wasted  so damn bad :cryga:

Signature loading… 👹🖤

I absolutely agree.

But she shouldn’t of promised the world and give out nothing. That’s how you Alienate people!

(Remember she wrote on her Chromatica delay note that she still had plenty of surprises to come? Where are they?!?)

The only other reason that I'm disgruntled by the recent moves she's made is that I remember a time when she said she hated selling fragrances and felt like she had more to offer to the world than shallow selfies and the like.

She seemed to have all the kinds of promotion that a fan could ever want and because of covid they are naturally not going to come to fruition. That I understand but what is even more offensive is that the on/off switch of fan engagement seems to only be when she has something to sell. Once the first week of album sales came though, she went on to things that were more of a money maker for her.

This is beautiful. It's still a serve even though it's something we've seen before.

Guess now she enjoys selling perfumes again. A while ago, she felt it was shallow to sell perfumes...

Time changes people I think, or maybe money.

I don’t think this is her decision.

I'm really struggling lately with the 'commercialisation' of 'Lady Gaga'.

Of course, she's always been commercial - she's a pop star.

But her 'for the money' mentality always used to be, very intrinsically, tied to her artistry.

Now, it's tied to her name, her brand... her ability to make money for money's sake.

And when we're in an 'era' where music and art is supposed to be at the forefront (not HausLabs or... this) - it all becomes even more apparent, and harder to enjoy, or at least ignore.

ESPECIALLY if there's no experimentation or interest injected into these projects... which, as beautiful as she looks, this certainly seems to be lacking - if it's legit, that is.

Anyway, just a few thoughts.

I'll always support Gaga and I adore her talent. But I don't understand why she keeps trying to earn more and more money. Hasn't she got enough? It just goes against everything that, to me, 'Lady Gaga' represents. I guess it's time to accept that's not the case, anymore.

Here's the thing that no one seems to notice: every time Gaga does something that we're used to seeing as a naked money grab by others; she is always accomplishing a secondary, more purposeful, goal.

No one of her status can avoid huge amounts of money moving around everything they do. So for someone who hates money, why do all this? If you look closer, you will see that she's getting more than money on her side of the deal.

Everything y'all have said Ew! to, have actually been smart ways to (A) rack up clout/power/leverage for the future (B) promote her philanthropy/ personal values (C) be a trailblazer or check off a personal achievement

Tudor Watches (B) read any press related to Gaga x Tudor and it's obvious that this is a vehicle to bring attention to all her philanthropic work, values and goals. #BorntoDare is a platform to telecast her causes to people in a Rolex-wearing income bracket. (C) she's the first ever female ambassador for the nearly 100 yr old brand (✔)

Haus Labs (A)(B)(C) Hate all you want, this is her baby. Lady Gaga has a beauty brand company (✔)and is set on infusing all of her Born This Way values and eccentricities into this shallow beauty industry. She will always cape for her company, as any business owner would. Deal with it.

Enigma Lite Tour (A)(B)(C) Y'all have no effing clue how much leverage this got her. Spreading joy to influential people will always put goodwill on her name. These shows got her access and connections that she can use to her benefit later. How many of these powerful companies and wealthy people are now on the lists for BTWF fundraising events and project development? How many were part of the $100+ million raised, so fast, for Covid -19 relief? How many of these connections are helping build up and innovate HL in some way? She played Apple Park(✔) then got Tim Cook to pledge $10M on national tv :firega:. She played an international software peoples conference, where her mom was able to facilitate sessions about breeding kindness in the workplace. BTWF and kindness theory has now been exposed to the top minds in the best tech companies in the world. How many of them are helping  BTWF make those mental health apps and websites? She played the legendary Apollo Theater (✔) for Sirius Radio/Pandora and Super Saturday Night (✔) for AT&T raising thousands for BTWF.

The Fame (A)(C) After pushing R&D to innovate the first black perfume; She held the opening party during NY Fashion Week, at the Guggenheim Museum. She put on a grand performance art piece inside a replica of the bottle, before getting her skull tattooed, and after her and Steven Kleins's mini movie ad was played for the attendees (the pop, fashion, art elite of NY)  (✔✔✔✔✔✔)

Even MAC cosmetics was for amfAR. She got to work/befriend/re-inspire Cyndi Lauper (✔)  and do her weird perf art thing at the but amfAR dinner (✔) that year.

Spoiler

In b4 but Eau de Gaga! ...it's clear Eau de Gaga was a money grab brokered by Troy and Gaga refused to play along. I believe that's the one she's always talking bc she had complete creative control of The Fame and had fun with it.

Etc, etc, etc.

I will be HIGHLY surprised if she's just doing ads for the Valentino fragrance deal (✔)

----

TL;DR Gaga is effing smart. If you paying attention, she hasn't changed at all. She is brokering deals and making moves for the things she actually cares about.

It's a lovely picture, but let's be real: most of the fanbase likely isn't their target audience. They're not selling Crazy Ga here. It's very in line with Valentino's brand.

I think we have to wait to see more pictures. We are talking about Maison Valentino... I was checking their previous perfume campaigns and they are all really classic and sophisticated. Of course it doesn't fit with the Chromatica theme but well, at least she is gonna get that promo everywhere. I was at Jenner's yesterday and ROM started playing on the perfumes floor, I made my friends stay :billie:

Have you checked the Charts Thread today?!

Well she looks very beautiful, but it does remind me a lot of the Vogue shoot also done by Inez and Vinoodh so that’s a little disappointing.

Hopefully the full campaign has something more exciting, interested to see how the commercial will be
