Ellen DeGeneres Sends Emotional Apology to Staff

This entire "apology" is a non apology. She literally only took responsibility for lettings others do bad things. She never once admitted that she was the problem. A lot of ppl spoke out about DIRECT bad interactions with Ellen herself, not ppl who work for / speak for Ellen yet she made it out as if there were no problems where she was directly involved in. Whatever. At least this is a good first step I guess.

She's not addressing the fact that staff were instructed not to talk to her or even look at her, as were guests (I don't know how both those things are possible if you're being interviewed by her or interviewing her, but ok). It's not like it's just a behind the scenes issue, the main problem was her. And considering that her whole deal is a talk show where she talks to the camera, her choosing to go for a written apology is very telling. She can't even bring herself to speak an apology out loud as she can't make it believable. I was watching old clips today of all the most awkward moments on her show and a lot of them really shocked me, especially when it came to stuff like her forgetting information about people she claimed to be a fan of, not remembering stuff she did with certain guests on her own show, etc. proves that she's faking her love and interest in a lot of celebrities. And there were a lot of times she unnecessarily offended someone and it was clear she was making the guest uncomfortable but just kept right on going. It amazes me that we didn't notice her fakeness and problematic nature for so long. Even when she has a smile 10 miles wide, it doesn't reach her eyes.

It’s not random people, it’s people that used to work for her. Do your research.

Y'all Cancelling ellen for not being nice , but be leaving mean comments on here about other  users & celebrities , just because you can hide behind  an anonymous  profile is no different :vegas:

It’s because she isn’t nice. There’s many stories of the wait staff at restaurants having bad experience from her. For years there has always been bad reports about her being awful to people so we just gonna keep allowing that to happen? She’s being sorry because her job is on the line. And also she couldn’t do a video to address this? She did one while she was quarantining and calling it a prison. Not to mention how awful she treats Portia.

We all have to be more mindful about the way our words and actions affect others, and I’m glad the issues at our show were brought to my attention.

You mean I.

What the hell is this? This looks like a notice a CEO would send out over things that happen with other staff members, not himself.

This is not an apology. This is her shifting the blame to everyone but her.

It is very important that Ms. DeGeneres is aware of the problem. I believe she and her team will find a solution. Go ahead, Ellen!

True story by a good friend of mine:

My friend, Mike, moved to LA to become an actor - his life long dream. He was 23ish at the time. He struggled to find work, had to couch surf, could barely afford food - typical Hollywood story. He finally lands his dream job (other than acting) grooming/massaging dogs (he's an animal lover). He gets his own place. Starts going on auditions. Things look like they're changing for the better.

Then, one fateful day, Ellen comes into the groomers Mike works at. Mike is star struck. He loves her. They hit it off. Over the next few months an odd little friendship organically happens over their love of animals and comedy. Then Ellen, on a whim, asks him if he wants to her personal assistant. Mike is floored. But he contains himself. Asks about pay, longevity, time required, etc, A week or so later, he accepts the offer and quits his job - but not before letting Ellen know that quitting dog grooming makes him anxious. She reassures him. Tells him this could be the start of something big for him.

Everything starts off great. For about five days. On the sixth day, Ellen turns cold, seemingly overnight, and fires him! He'd done nothing wrong. Hell, he didn't even have enough time to screw up! Ellen calmly stated that Portia hates him and wants him out (Mike had Portia exactly ONCE in the five days). Mike tells Ellen he quit his job. They won't take him back. Ellen just shrugs and tells him to pack leave the grounds.

That was it. She totally f-ed up his life, It was just cruel. Mike couldn't find work and was forced to move back home to South Carolina, where he's from. Absolutely devastated.

I have more like this.

I hate Ellen.
