Vaccination won't be ready by November :toofunny:

A Stage 3 Trial has to span over 12-24 months to prove it's effectiveness in preventing the virus and to actually prove that it's safe to be used on people. I'm sure they can cut corners but I don't think we'll see a vaccine be mass produced til mid next year.

don't keep your hopes up, that is best case scenario, and even then it's not a guarantee for long term immunity

Looks like the Oxford vaccine might be ready for mass production early 2021 but it won’t be for another few months after that that people outside of the medical profession and presumably teachers will be vaccinated.

Also it doesn’t stop you from getting the virus, just will help most people avoid the severe side effects of it and therefore slash the death rate but not completely make the virus a non issue.  I hope it’s at least as effective as a flu vaccine because then we can go back to normality by next summer but we might not get it perfect with the first vaccine.

Yeah I hate to say but I think people are being a little optimistic with the timeframe. I just read an interview with a doctor from Johns Hopkins who said he thinks late 2021 is more realistic for wide distribution. Mostly I've seen mid-2021 predictions at the earliest.

Ironically all of the trials going on concurrently is a challenge in itself due to recruitment.
