flyaway 15,350
We all know she had a completely different album before she released Joanne based on the photos and what RedOne has stated previously. Since then, we've seen her career skyrocket once again with ASIB. But do you think she should have released LG5 back then instead of Joanne? Oui or not? iAstroLeo 14,424
She should have released ARTPOP ACT II
NFRatwell 23,290
The way she could’ve released the original LG5, given it Chromatica level promo, and still would’ve been able to make Joanne and release two albums in one year.
Blastertoyo 22,728
Yes because it would have made ASIB look like an even bigger 180 because now Cheek To Cheek- Joanne - ASIB are the “boring Gaga eras” sure “versatility” but 3 toned down eras in a row are hardly that versatile please enlighten me to death
MANiCURE 6 10,279
She should have released "Joanne" and then OG LG5 as a bonus EP (5-6 songs with "The Cure" as the lead and "Frankenstein" as the 2sd single) during Coachella and perform both albums on the "Joanne World Tour" ! And then ASIB and Chromatica.
Brecht 7
No. Joanne saved her career. It was how she convinced the Superbowl to book her. And how she convinced Warner Bros that she could do ASIB.
Head Empty 25,084
Fans like to fantasize about all these unreleased and unheard tracks, and usually assume that it would be Gaga's best music. Sure, some of the RedOne tracks could be bops, but if they'd be masterpieces Gaga would've released them in one way or another. So I usually assume that things like "act 2" and "the original LG5" are rather lackluster And although Joanne is my least favorite album of hers, it still seems a great match for her as an artist and as a person. Happiness will never last, darkness comes to kick your ass... ᵃˢˢ 🕺

Gaga likes to make sense of her releases in the context of her albums. A song like Brooklyn Nights is great, but wouldn't have worked at all on ARTPOP - both lyrically and sonically. So sometimes it's best to kill your darlings and decide that it wasn't meant to be. A great song, but not good enough for that moment in time. I'm sure that if she was sitting on a true masterpiece, she'd find a way to release it. But I fully expect that she doesn't have any of those laying around from previous eras. shoful 13,304
I really don’t get her at all. She says “music not the bling” but plans her work around dedicated eras that need to be supported. Like if she actually followed music not the bling she should’ve finished LG5 dropped it with nothing and then released Joanne and supported it as an era. She hoards music like thats her job. Its kinda sad that she makes these full albums but doesn’t want to share them with us "My name is Dita, I'll be your Mistress tonight..."
RudraCNG 14,969
We really can't say. I love RedOne but we haven't heard those tracks so we don't know how they sound or if they were better than Joanne. We can agree that Joanne was a turning point in Gaga's career, GP started to recognize her talent with that album (they were wrong, since Gaga was a talented singer/musician from her very beginning, but seems like dance music isn't cool enough for some posers), so maybe it was for the best, though I hate to admit it. And how she convinced Warner Bros that she could do ASIB. Why do people always say this? Joanne was her worst selling solo album, and received average reviews (her second worst reviewed solo album on metacritic). The one "hit", MR, was promoted to death and still only reached the top 10 for one week after SBHTS (the biggest promo on earth), then immediately vanished from the charts. She had already signed on to do ASIB well before Joanne was released, and the Superbowl was pretty much agreed upon by summer 2016, as we saw in 5ft2. I'm sure she gained some new fans from it, but she lost plenty too. I feel confident saying Joanne did nothing for her career, positive or negative. It just... exists.
