@Pennywise I remember when I was in high school listening to this song a whole night and crying continuously. Still might do. This song is why American Life is my favorite Madonna album.

@Blown Away This song came as a surprise, I didn't remember it sounding like this. I thought it would be another Auto-Tuned and bloated mess, but I was happy to see it was so beautiful and stripped down. These kind of songs are were Madonna often shines, she clearly poured her heart into this.

@MingersPrayer We needed a break from the heavy production and this perfectly arrived. Love the raw guitar. Madonnas voice works perfectly here. I’m surprised she didn’t do this on the Madame X tour.

@HausOfAntonio Forgettable. But the lyrics are pretty.

@SabadoDeGloria Narrowly edging out Intervention for my 11, X-Static Process may be my favorite Madonna song. It is just as raw, honest, and acoustically pop as Intervention, Love Profusion, and Nothing Fails...but the chorus slightly elevates it among its contemporaries on this album.

@HeavyMetalLover Beautiful and haunting and sweet.

@nickkoko Nice ballad, but leaves a little to be desired.

@Noir Should've been a single, her best song of her career in my opinion. So beautiful.

@shoful This song is amazing and holds some of her best lyrics. I view this song as her message their either herself or a public image that she holds herself to. I really feel like this is one of Madonna’s most introspective songs about her life in fame and potentially some turmoil within herself that she wants to convey. Almost like a letter to herself to remind herself that she is “special too”.
