Pinks first acrobatic performance?

This is zero shade to Britney at all, but what P!nk does is unlike any other performer, not only for the intensity of the acrobatic routines, but for the fact that she sings live the entire time (which has been proven on occasions with technical difficulties or with her mic falling off mid-aerial performance as well as her distinctly singing different melodies night-to-night). Again, I’m not discrediting Britney in any way! But what they do is very different.

Edit: This is a short video of her speaking about how she got into doing acrobatics during her concerts and it shows a few clips of her acrobatic performances:

Did P!nk do this from 1999-2004??? or after???

If live back-handsprings were so easy why were Madonna, Janet Jackson Beyonce and Jlo all incapable of doing it?

She’s been doing acrobatics since she was eight and she began incorporating it into her live shows in 2004 (as soon as she was playing venues large enough for aerial performances). I’m in no way comparing Britney to anyone else or saying her skills aren’t impressive, I’m just saying it’s different from what P!nk does. Back-handsprings are impressive and I’m in no way denying that! But it’s not the same as fully choreographed aerial routines.

Edit: I just want to make a correction, she didn’t start acrobatics when she was eight, she did gymnastics for eight years, my bad!

How are back handsprings similar to Pink’s aerial performances at all?

Bottom line: All the Gaga fans here and everyone else should stop saying she's "more like Janet" or Madonna "already did everything Britney did before" when both weren't even athletic enough to do this.

Because I know they said this.

Madonna and Janet are authentic artists though.. I seriously dont see your logic and im a Britney fan.

Omg did some of y'all really think P!nk would have been able to do those aerial performances without YEARS of hard training?? She's on another level when it comes to acrobatics, nobody compares to her.

And the best thing is how good her vocals are while she's doing all these moves.

And I'm not knocking P!nk either.  Just saying that if Britney's reign was from 1999-2004, P!nk incorporated those routines after-and not during- that period of time.

Thank you. Just reiterating that you can't call Britney from 1999-2004 an "overrated" performer, when ALL the acts the media was/is busy pitting her against were absolutely INCAPABLE of doing it,:

"As with nearly all aspects of American life, the question of race was inextricable from Britney’s ascent. The mythmaking that presented her as the “All-American girl” was conspicuously absent from the marketing of Brandy and Aaliyah, two preternaturally gifted teen stars barely older than Britney, whom radio programmers, television executives, and editors often slotted into the “urban” lane, a racially loaded phrase used historically to ghettoize black artists in the music industry. Around the same time that Oops! I Did It Again shattered pop records, Destiny’s Child was amid a similarly canonical run. But despite similar chart domination, mass media magazine editors weren’t rushing to put Beyoncé, Kelly, and Michelle in the stars and stripes. For all of its riffs on new jack swing and R&B, the boy band and teen-pop era was glaringly white (although the half-Ecuadorian Christina Aguilera did immediately follow up her debut with a Spanish-language album). While the musical themes may have stressed inclusion, the marketing and presentation were implicitly geared to white America."

"Early criticism of Spears sneered that she was a manufactured pop star, the product of a Swedish songwriting factory that had no real hand in either her music or her persona.Spears...in other words, was a passive blank slate, an actress with basic singing and dancing abilities who got lucky. The star audiences fell in love with was the product of clever producers and marketing."

I agree that "Everytime" is Britney's only true artistic declaration, but nobody can call Britney "a clone" or an "overrated" performer from 1999-2004, not only because she incorporated a diversity of styles into performing, but because she did things all the artists she's always pitted against were simply proven incapable of doing, especially LIVE.
