All These Surge Of New Releases Suddenly, Why?

Of course, I am grateful for it. And so should all of us. But that is not the question here.

I am wondering why all these artists suddenly putting out their albums? I am sure they were already planned far ahead. some even planned for 2021, but I can't help to think, lots of them are being rushed to release this year instead to avoid new rules by Billboard?

As we all know, Billboard just updated the new rules for charting in their official chart system earlier this month, which eliminate the practice of counting albums bundled with merchandise and concert tickets on its album and song charts altogether.

It has been a quite normal practice by now and lots of planned release might already got those stuffs planned as well, then they hear about this charting update and went berserk before decided to release it before the rules takes affect after October 9 2020.

What do y'all think?

Maybe I'm weird, but they probably want their fans to be distracted from the world and listen to new music.  It's odd to just gamble on sales just for quick merchandise bundles.  I don't know much about that.  Maybe some of the little charters™ could chime in.

The musicians and labels want as many album copies sold as they can, and the new rule will affect future sales of albums, so I presume they are trying to use the old rules to their advantages before the changes.

Same. She's still gonna do great, but I feel her drop in numbers will much bigger than say, Gaga, who as far as I'm concerned hasn't relied that heavily on merchandise and tour bundles.

Regardless of the reason, it’s very exciting to be getting so many album releases from big names: Gaga, Dua, Katy (not as big as she was but at least she’s still big in pop circles), Billie, Taylor, Manson, Beyoncé releasing a visual counterpart for The Gift, etc. It has truly been a great year for music after a lackluster 2019. At least there’s been a good side to this year

I don’t think people are “suddenly” releasing. Taylor is the only one that made it a surprise even though she already hinted back in the day about releasing another album after Lover, we just didn’t expected to be this Ferrari 

I think we’re kinda of amazed because after all of this Coronga mess, we’re having been fed... I mean, yet not the complete menu  but still
