"Hallucinate" is a song by British singer-songwriter Dua Lipa from her second studio album, Future Nostalgia (2020), serving as the album's 4th single by Warner Records on 17 July 2020. A week after release the song debuted at UK official singles chart at #65 and this is the only biggest market that the song debuted, no France, no Germany, no Australia, no US.  Two weeks after the official animated music video was out it have only around 13 million views? This is very low number for her standarts, BMH debuted with 3,529,567 first day, Phisycal with 3,078,703 and DSN with 4,552,351. However kworb predicted that Hallucinate will had 100 million on 2020/12/05.

I mean, post-album singles rarely have much success nowadays, and this is the 4th single as well. I’m pretty sure Don’t Start Now will be her only worldwide hit for this era.

1. It’s not a lead single. It’s her 4th single from FN

2. Give her a time. All her previous songs took some time to become a hit and then they served longevity comparing to other artists :triggered:

Physical and Break My Heart are actually slaying Europe so Hallucinate will be next.

Dua is the last artist I would worry about when it comes to chart success and longevity.

Obviously I'm only speaking for myself on this but I feel like Future Nostalgia as a whole was released during a time when no other major pop girl was doing anything. Now all the other main girls are releasing albums so interest has moved on.. I mean, we have Chromatica, Folklore and Smile. Plus it's a 4th single, since when do 4th singles ever really become hits?

It should if it hasn’t. I don’t “get” Dua Lipa. You’d think she created dance music the way people go on about her but the only song I could get into was Physical. I tried the whole album several times and I just don’t get it...nothing beyond basic bops there and I couldn’t get into it.

IMO eras nowadays have to go at a faster pace to keep the momentum and hype going on. It all goes down pretty fast once the album is out with every song on streaming services... It’s sad but this is how people consume music today

We will have to see how the Song gets treated by Radio within the next few Weeks.

All of her other singles are still going strongish tho (right?), I don't really think people were looking for another single from her. Plus singles released after album release are all flopping:wtfga:

Reject False Icons

For me its the best single along with physical :lolly:

I'm sure it will take off, her singles slayed the world even 3 moths after being released

Also i don't believe the idea of singles post album release are condemned, the gp doesn't listen to albums, they stream popular playlists so only the fans listened to the album and also are willing to support the single releases

Yeah the single hasn’t done much, but equally the label didn’t do much either so it’s pretty confusing why they made it a single. She literally just posted to say it was one and moved on.. no playlisting, promo, radio. I’m surprised it even landed in the U.K. chart at all.
