This will be Taylor’s least commercially successful album yet

Guys I get it, it’s not pop music we can dance to it, but cmon ya’ll are talking like she released a mixtape demos for her fan... the album is a REAL product, and it’s slaying. It sold basically the same amount of copies of lover and this time there were no store where to buy copies, in 2 weeks target sales will boost the album again and I’m sure if they were available now she’d do 1M again. And even if she didn’t, cmon, look at the critic acclaim, high sales in such a declined music industry, all the records that she’s broken. She is the music industry. 

I KNOW,  The album at first listen might sound boring (the first 2 days I was confused and a bit bored ) but I ASSURE  you that when you start knowing every song then you’ll finally see the huge difference, vocally, melodically etc, between every song.

cardigan is a magic timeless song, august is the “cruel summer” of the 80s/90s, “ this is me trying” is the “this love” of the album, Seven is so magnetic, exile is the next “say something” size of hit waiting to happen. 

plus, the concept of the album is so cool, three characters (james, betty and inez) whose story is told from their childhood to the adult age. For example Seven is about James’s father, and a little betty sings to him: 

“And I've been meaning to tell you
I think your house is haunted
Your dad is always mad and that must be why
And I think you should come live with me
And we can be pirates
Then you won't have to cry
Or hide in the closet
And just like a folk song
Our love will be passed on”

I mean, listen how that lyrics magically matches the song and how can you not be amazed?
James’s difficult childhood, for example, explains why he cheated on betty and there’s such an incredible connection between all songs, she’s basically singing her own book.

 This is an amazing work, not some mixtape you’re all trying to picture, this is her “The last of us”, this is AAA production, just because it isn’t pop it doesn’t mean she counts only on her fan to buy it. it’s already having, and in the long run will keep having, a bigger impact than Lover, which was much more childish and pop-immediate. Cardigan her only single? She will 110% choose AT LEAST another 2 singles, I’m guessing August and Exile, BOOKMARK ME,  and this will be the final proof I needed to show ya’ll she put this product on the market cause she knows it’s timeless and amazing so it will bring her both the acclaim and sales.
