Bottom 1,842
I love Gaga so much, she is the ultimate pop star in my opinion. Lately, these last couple of years, she seems depressed as hell and like her confidence is at a low. Everything is always clouded by a background of woe is me and depression. I wish someone on her team would knock some sense in to her to remind her who the hell she is, she is LADY F'N GAGA, one of the greatest pop stars of ALL time, she has one of the best voices in the whole world, when she is on that stage no other bitch in this world comes close to her, see the superbowl, who else is doing it like her? I wish she would forgot about everything that holds her back in her mind and realises she is a superhero. I understand she is just human, but what she has created, the artist that she becomes, is bigger than anything that could be holding her back. Seeing her these last couple of years makes me so sad, it is like seeing superman but he is being held back by his human self, if that makes sense. I wish someone on her team would remind her about who the hell she is, what she is capable of. I want 50 years from now to see her on stage tearing the house down like she always does. I feel like lately "lady gaga" seems like a chore to her instead of a passion, like something she is forced to do instead of something she really feels. She needs to see that we love her for her, for what she creates, for what she is capable of. She is capable of creating incredible art, a disco album maybe one day, then an album full of ballads, then another movie soundtrack, there is so much she has yet to give to the world. It's not even about chart performance, one of my favourite eras was the MTN era because the live performances of that song were peak Gaga, no one else could have done what she did on the stage everytime she performed that song. I hope to god she snaps out of this ditch she is currently in and remembers what she is capable of
Bambino 24,267
Of course she's depressed, she's an artist, not some other sell-out puta.

Quasi 10,923
If she is indeed going through something, telling someone to snap out of it won't help. Especially when she has such an image of perfection that people constantly hold her to. None of us on this website have any possible idea of the pressure someone of her magnitude faces even walking out of the door. If she isn't going through something serious, then be patient. I'm sure she has a lot up her sleeve if she is making us wait this long. I don't understand pineapples, so I don't eat bananas.
Ashley 9,392
This is really insensitive. You can’t just snap your fingers and cure her depression, or anyone’s for that matter. It’s not that simple.

PinkJelly 1,768
I wonder if you’d be this brazen to her face like “hey girl snap out of it don’t you know who you are?!” - for all we know that could be part of the problem, the complications of being famous as ‘Lady Gaga’ and not being able to live a normal life. Fans expect her to be a superhero on a pedestal that is not-human ALL the time. She is not defining herself by her depression. Being vocal about depression and pain doesn't mean that's her sole identity. This is a general issue on a larger, cultural level with famous people. How we perceive artists. As celebrities. As Gods. It is NOBODY'S right to tell HER how to be or how to feel. This is extremely insensitive, and quite frankly, problematic. I understand what you are attempting to get at but posting something like this is severely insensitive. And lastly, just for the record, her vulnerability has given strength to so many people. I admire her more these days than before when the facade was all we saw.
Bottom 1,842
Just now, PinkJelly said: I wonder if you’d be this brazen to her face like “hey girl snap out of it don’t you know who you are?!” - for all we know that could be part of the problem, the complications of being famous as ‘Lady Gaga’ and not being able to live a normal life. I honestly wish i could because no one else seems to be doing it. Ofcourse she doesn't have a normal life, she is LADY GAGA, one of the greatest artists of our time, the best living performer we have. It is like seeing freddie mercury sad about "human" problems when he is so much more than that. I just want her to find the confidence in herself that she seems to have lost after the ARTPOP era

Born in Chromatica 7
I mean that is all good saying that, but depression is not something you can snap out of, some with anxiety. You can't just wake up and say I am happy, depression is something that takes a lot of time to recover. When Gaga made Chromatica, the album was supposed to be a healing album for her, it was supposed to be a positive thing in the world, but with Covid and the death of George Floyd around when Chromatica, Gaga probably feels the album failed. Also, she is suffering with Fibromyalgia, which can be horrible on some days. The truth is we don't the behind the scenes of Lady Gaga, but she is an artist, and she will feels times of depression and anxiety, and telling her to "snap out of it" doesn't work, she is only human. All we can do as fans is be there and her support at her lowest and her highest. FaShIoN iS mY pAsSiOn!

Also, from what she's said, Bloodpop seemed to frequently try and "snap her out of it" while working on Chromatica but it's not a one-size-fits-all solution. People encouraging you only goes so far when you're struggling with mental health or other disorders. This is a harmful perspective to have.
geusst1235 5,398
I understand the overall sentiment of what you are trying to say, but regurgitating Gaga's past accomplishments or works of art will NOT wash away the PSTD, depression, and full body pain that she has to deal with on a daily basis. Gaga is not a superhero. Gaga is not invincible. She is unequivocally allowed to speak about her depression, which does not mean that she is controlled or defined by it in any capacity. Besides, acting like Gaga has suddenly lost all confidence in herself or passion for her work is completely asinine considering just how chaotic the world is right now. The era will reconvene in due time, so be patient and appreciate the wonderful pieces of art (an album, 2 videos, etc) we've already been given.
