Chromatica isn't too powerful but it's still over the top vocally at times. I would love that soft stripped back sound that Taylor and Lorde do but it's just not something in her range imo. She's obviously an amazing vocalist but I'd like to be able to enjoy the songs and dance, and have short sweet hooks versus listening to her belting all the time. HEARTSTOP 3,137
People complaining Gaga doesn't use a descriptive type of storytelling in pop songs...so do you want her to make pop music or...? Pop music is based on quick, witty metaphorical hooks. It's nothing like folk music. Spoiler And yes, like to admit it or not, Joanne is a pop album! Miel 15,009
I'd have loved it. It would have shown her range in songwriting, and in subtler vocal techniques. Joanne and ASIB were headed in that direction, a little bit. 3 points in and ready for more

Interesting. That's kind of what I love about Gaga...her over the top vocals. I've always been drawn to big, full, even brassy voices...I could see her toning it down, but even with more "delicacy" I wonder if her vocals would suit something so soft like Folklore due to her tone...I could see Gaga's voice working on something like Lorde's Melodrama, though, or Taylor's song Lover. *I still love Lana (who is one of my favorites), Ariana, etc....but in terms of what i find the most sonically appealing it is voices like Sia, Amy Winehouse, Gaga, Beyonce. ArtpopAct2 2,672
I would probably be very disappointed. Doesn’t mean i wouldn’t like it, but the album doesn’t really have any moments that explode, which is where Gaga shows the power of her voice. I want her to release very hard and powerful music next. The complete opposite direction, like rock.

No matter how many times she sings Bad Romance on the piano she will never have that storytelling ability. It's fine, it's just different, that's why no one wants Gaga to go stripped back, as opposed to Taylor fans, because they know that's where Taylor shines Pathetic
Chromatography 10,186
lately gaga’s voice has been too powerful, if that makes sense. a lot of the songs are light and airy vocals and gaga hasn’t done that for awhile. i could see ellie goulding doing something like this, but not gaga
Harris Walz 2024 1,451
I don't feel like Gaga could make a folklore album. Closest was Joanne and that was alot of Mark Ronson. It's not a bad thing though. Different artists have different strengths.
Guest
I love Folklore and I would love it if Gaga released it. Her vocals are much more powerful than Taylor's.
ArtpopAct2 2,672
I’d just like to add that y’all KNOW LMs would be on Gaga’s neck if she put this out
Luv u Sum 2,377
Honestly and this isn’t meant to be shady but Gaga couldn’t do this album. Taylor couldn’t do Chromatica either but Gaga doesn’t have the songwriting skills and wouldn’t release an entire album of such soft music
Wet Fire 7,408
No. I won't be here for it. I need soaring vocals, arena-worthy choruses, layered production from Gaga.

RochestrMonstr 3,183
I think if Gaga released this kind of album it would be Joanne. Though less than her previous eras, Joanne era was still pretty damn campy. It was a pop album that went with a country aesthetic. Gaga is a chameleon and I think there’s always going to be some of that campy Gaga factor no matter what genre she chooses. I cant imagine her doing anything at all and having it come off like Folklore.
