I'd be here for a stripped back piano gaga album, some more high-tempo and some lower-tempo. I mean she has literally always been praised for her piano playing and that she sounds amazing with just a piano. Also the jazz & piano version of Paparazzi for example is so amazing, I would love to have more gaga songs like that.

artists excel at different things. i think Taylor writes objectively better lyrics than Gaga does. but that's always been Taylor's biggest strength. I think Gaga is REALLY good with catchy melodies.

i really can't imagine Gaga ever doing something like folklore. the "story" of a song has never been what her music's about. it's almost always the feeling a song conveys rather than what the lyrics are explicitly saying. and that makes sense – Taylor comes from country which is fundamentally a lyric-driven genre, whereas pop music is fundamentally about capturing a feeling.

conversely, i can't imagine Taylor ever releasing something like Government Hooker, Bloody Mary, Judas, Do What U Want, Sexxx Dreams, Alice, 911 etc. they're good at different things. in the same way that Joanne is not nearly as good as Taylor's version of the same thing, 1989 is not nearly as good as Gaga's version of the same thing.

taylor's like red wine and gaga's whiskey. they do different things in different settings.

Gaga's a better songwriter than y'all give her credit for (some of the tracks on ASIB, Joanne, BTW, TFM, even a few on Chromatica). But yeah, her lyrical abilities aren't suited to folk-ish music and she's not as strong as a songwriter as Lana and Taylor. Then again, Gaga's thing is her vocals (Lana and Tay lack the range there)...when she sings, she SINGS and she'd overpower folk-ish music which generally isn't suited to strong, "brassy" big vocals...especially altos like Gaga.

Frankly, if she put out Joanne with some tweaks (John Wayne, Dancin' in Circles are bops but prevent the album from being cohesive imo...and AYO & PI have some lyrical issues) I think the reviews would be much stronger now. Part of the issue with the reviews back then is people were judging her for jumping from ARTPOP to C2C and so they felt Joanne was "inauthentic".

People excel in different areas. I'm not shading anyone, but Lana/Taylor/Lorde are very strong when it comes to lyrics & arranging melodies, etc....while Gaga/Ariana/Bey have more vocal strength/range. Singers who have big, brassy voices (Gaga, Christina, Bey) also don't necessarily suit folk-ish music while others aren't suited to the type of music they can pull off (see Miley & Ariana's Manchester duet...Ariana is technically a better singer but her voice was not suited to the song).

70% of monsters hate everything that isn't pure pop lol. They'd hate Folklore off the bat and I also don't think it is Gaga's "area." While the fans might not be "there" for it, I suspect Gaga would receive more recognition/acclaim for putting out an album full of studio-rock ballads or country-rock than her typical dance/electronic/electro-pop, though—the kind of music where she can flex her vocal abilities to the extreme. Critics have warmed to her again and they hadn't quite done so post ARTPOP when Joanne came out...and Joanne had some issues itself.

Also fans need to stop turning everything into a competition. Even if one was going to do that, Chromatica was a completely different genre and came out nearly 2 months ago...the ones who might be impacted by Taylor's sales are the Chicks and Katy.

I think people are misinterpreting your message because of your first sentence, which communicates vocal range to me and probably a few others. 

Taylor's strongest talent is her songwriting ability. Gaga's a decent songwriter in my opinion, but I don't think that Gaga would be able to create the storytelling in her lyrics that Taylor creates. Gaga's performances vocally are galaxies away from Taylor's, though.

I didn’t like the album when I heard it from Taylor and I wouldn’t like it from Gaga either. The music just isn’t my cup of tea. And no, I’m not hating on Taylor.

on another note, I’m very surprised at how many people are suddenly calling Taylor a lyric genius. Isn’t this the same fan club that keeps on calling Taylor’s single generic and saying “Taylor’s lyrics are so elementary”? What’s with the sudden change of heart with lots of you in here? Again, no hate towards Taylor. I’m just asking out of curiosity..
