this album said "the old Taylor can come to the phone right now" and she's sipping some sweet tea in the summer

It's a good album but I feel like it's gonna get so much critical acclaim because it's Taylor Swift when Norman Rockwell was a much better one, this is like she told Antonoff to recreate some of that concept.

I like folk and I've been wanting to hear something like this from Taylor for a while but she doesn't really do that much with her voice so it feels like all the songs follow the same line. Would've been better with just 13 tracks.

Why are we complaining about lack of choruses when another album we love barely has lyrics :air:

idk I kinda love songs with lots and lots of lyrics where you don't know which part is what

When I listen to a Taylor Swift album I feel like I don’t look for amazing lyrics or vocals.. I look forward to her masterfully written chorus melodies! I’m just missing that on this project

It’s funny because the Guardian and Telegraph just gave her album 5/5. Literally celebrating white mediocrity. Once again while POC have to create astounding bodies of work to have their work considered 5/5 Taylor can release this vanilla body of work and it gets critical acclaim.

Maybe it’s just not to your taste though :trollga:

I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill.

Girl and the way all those reviews came at the same time. Like it's a marketing strategy. She literally sent them the album and asked them to publish the reviews exactly at midnight :bear: She's really thirsty for that Grammy.

Perhaps you should stop giving any weight to what critics think.

It just annoys me how corrupt the industry is. White liberal critics who play favouritism. I don’t think it’s a bad album at all on 2nd listen but 5/5? No. Lemonade is 5/5. Sawayama is 5/5. This ain’t it. This album would’ve sounded better if Lana sang it.
