I don't know how anyone can be a fan of Gaga and drag The Fame era.

Most of us loved it when she made her own props like the disco stick and her outfits like the disco bra and anyway that outfit on the JR show isn't basic and neither is that wig. 

I'll always be a fan of The Fame era. She was just starting out and invested every dollar she earnt into her performances. It's not fair to call any of it cheap or basic.

She was doing almost everything herself, of course it looks cheap, but it's in no way bad... It's even more iconic when you think she gave us so many memorable moments with such low budget

There is nothing iconic about any of her live performances from this era The only iconic things are her music videos for PF and Paparazzi

My guess is you were very young back in 2008/2009?

In 2007 EDM pop was dead in the US, the biggest celebrities looked basic AF on red carpets in low rise jeans and scarf tops. 

Gaga's glue gunning was a breath of fresh air and with bigger budget came more polished looks.

About the performance, I guess she was trying out different ways to perform the song, so she gave screamo a go. Remember she also did it a Fame Ball festival gig, don't remember which one. It might have been a nod to one of her favorite bands, Faith no more (She used to go go dance to their song Epic) who did a pokerface cover at the time. 5.30 min.

I had never seen that one! OMG I tend to cringe so hard when she does sh*t like that but then later I look back on it and love it. Like things she did during the ARTPOP era made me literally so uncomfortable I couldn't watch (SXSW for example) but now looking back I always ending up smiling and loving it! She's so f*cking crazy in a really brilliant way.
