I'm glad she mentioned how complicated this is, because she's right. He IS someone suffering from mental illness and he IS her husband. The has a lot of layers for her and her family, and probably is an extremely difficult thing for them to get through. Hopefully he comes around and is willing to allow someone to help him through this, because it sounds like they all think he needs it, they just need him to get on board.

Remember guys, even though they are celebrities, and have both been extremely questionable, they are people.

Either her or her team wrote that. In any case, what is said is true and sad, but I do think you can force people at some point if a doctor thinks the patient could be a danger for himself/herself or other people

Sorry that I don’t care about people who have more money than half of the world and even more fans, as a person who has a bipolar person in my family Injust doesn’t understand why some americans  try to make every single problem so big

I wonder if you'd feel the same way if the tables were turned and it was Cynthia making these comments about Lady Gaga :oprah:

Gaga became famous not because of her plastic body, gossips, drama and reality show. Not saying that it’s bad, but this Kardashian family is literally making themselves such a big deal all the time that it’s just getting tiring.

I'm a bit tired of the "Let Kanye talk nonsense, he has a mental issue" excuse - many of us do, and we get our **** together as good as we can, with the resources we can find. Some of Kanye's words and actions are just unforgivable, and ultimately come down to the fact that he's an entitled ass. I'm not feeling sorry for those people, we all have problems and it doesn't make us as problematic.

I truly feel like this is coming from the heart. Kim and family get so much heat for being self-obsessed but this shows there is heart beneath the surface. Kim likely wants to shield her children from all the drama and as such, tries to do more behind the scenes work and prefers not to public about her approach. For anyone who says she doesn't love him and it's all a business arrangement, let's be clear here - Kim has her own businesses and money. She could survive just fine on her own and she has an extended family and nannies to help with the kids. If she was truly with him for his money and the fame it provides her, she would have divorced him a long time ago. She's rich and famous beyond her wildest dreams, she doesn't need the man who helped her achieve that anymore. But she stays with him, in sickness and in health. My only conclusion is that she must genuinely love him. I think it's admirable.

People partly want them to break up because they're annoyed that their marriage wasn't over within a year like everyone predicted, they went against the grain and proved everyone wrong. They've been together 8 years now, married for 6 of those years, with 4 children together. That's a lot longer and more meaningful than a lot of Hollywood marriages. And still people say they're not the real deal. I think it's very telling about how there's certain people in this world who we never give second chances or credit to.

Your issues with their money/celebrity (which many share) have nothing to do with your willingness to use mental health as a punchline. It’s not about how you feel about them in general, it’s the language that you’re using. If you think using bipolar as a joke is appropriate to mock one person, then you think it is for all people.

You can criticise Kanye/The Kardashians/whoever without making a joke of mental health.

It’s almost like mental health impacts people in different ways. Huh.

Yes we all know he is an ass. But anyone with an experience of bipolar should be able to empathise with this situation. Having a complicated and messy headspace as Kanye does regardless of bipolar is one thing, any of us can only speculate to what extent that is exacerbated by having the kind of platform that he has. We’ve seen it time and time again with celebrities and it’s killed many of them.

He’s always been cocky and arrogant and I don’t think anyone that cares about mental health is suggesting that we should “let him talk nonsense”. His words aren’t excusable, especially over the past few years. I fear it’s gone too far, but I really don’t think we should dismiss situations like this based on a few troubling soundbites. You never truly know what someone is going through, and this statement from Kim absolutely reeks of hopelessness to me.

For once, I agree with you. The idea that she’s “with him for money” or whatever seems kinda sexist to me, especially as she probably has more of a following than he does right now.
