Why did she speak up now? Just because Kanye mentioned her and suddenly people were attacking her for not speaking out? I don't hate Kim and I actually admire how she tried to help. Don't take my words the wrong way.

Very nice letter. She is right, family members are often powerless for helping loved ones without their consent. Which can make it so hard for people to get help. 

 

However... His dreams/whatever should not be respected when they are running for the president of the US and indirectly benefiting Trump as a result

What I gather from this then, which clears some of the air...is that they’ve been trying for years then? And he’s been very aggressive about not doing it. And now it seems it’s flaring up and he’s going after Kris and Kim. I’m sure they want to restrain him but aren’t allowed and that would just be messier.

They made fools of people many times before. I can even believe that this whole Kanye behavior is just part of promotion of his new album because it is so Kardashian's style.  And in the end they will try to show everybody how great wife is Kim.

Not saying I want Kanye (or anyone) to fall under a conservatorship like Britney, but Kanye seems like he's only a few short steps away from becoming a danger, and he needs help. There ARE ways to ensure he gets it. 

But oh Lord, if a conservatorship comes up, please don't let it be in the hands of the Kardashians. 

Part of me wonders if laws in California prohibit institutionalizing someone against their own will. I know that state has a lot of unique variables on what you can and can’t do.

Think that is a brilliantly executed message. Whether it's written directly by her or not doesn't matter to me.

Kanye has of course been saying some harmful things, but mental illness distorts everything. It's so easy to blame people for "not getting help" as if it's that easy, and I think that Kim conveys that point here very well. I'm sure many of us here have struggled with things like this, and if not I'm sure we all know people that have. Imagine going through that with such a public platform. It's not like we haven't seen celebrities spiral like this before.

It's been disappointing to see people laugh at him for this, especially on this website dedicated to someone that is a mental health advocate. Of course it's messy, of course he's been reckless... Whether you like his personality or not, his actions of late have not been that of a mentally sound person. The lack of compassion is pretty sad.

I don't think average joe type of people are aware of Kanye's mental condition. He needs to be sheltered from his impulsive actions. I'm sure he's not happy himself from the outcome of his actions.

I owe people on here an apology then for talking out the ass and with one foot in my mouth @Dolce Vita @Ricardo and @Steven. I don’t particularly care for the Kardashian family, but I will say courtesy of @COOOK’s post and doing some other searches, I stand corrected about Kim’s approach. It looks like she’s tried for years, Kanye is saying no and condemning her family for even trying and he’s lashing out at them. Yes a PR person might have helped articulate her words, but I will give her the benefit of the doubt that for years she’s tried to do the right thing and is probably backed into a corner aka Kanye fighting back saying no to any gestures of help.
