KindnessPunk28 1,506
You're giving too much credit to the Shania Twain wannabe tbh. Katy's "downfall" is simply because she isnt making music that caters to the general public anymore. She is doing her own thing and I love that. I've enjoyed everything Katy has put out post Teenage Dream and I dont think the pop fans give her enough credit.
God Control 2,181
Katy’s case is really weird. She went from what? 2? 3B views on Dark Horse to being much much less relevant in a very short time? It can’t be Bad Blood, no way. But I feel like Katy took gaps between eras and didn’t reinvent or deliver the same quality although Chained to the Rhythm was one of her best songs ever. But yeah the GP works really weird and it’s like Katy went out of style so fast, given how big she got.
RochestrMonstr 3,216
Katy’s career went like a very typical pop career does when a pop girl gets into her 30’s. Taylor didn’t cause that to happen to her. I like Katy and I’m glad she’s able to maintain a celebrity profile and release music still. Even during PRISM it was obvious that Katy’s imperial phase was over. Yeah it had two hits but the other 3 singles underperformed and the album only did like 4 Million. Good, yes, but not as amazing as her fans tried to convince us it was during ARTPOP.

FFXIV WhiteMage 5,926
Nope. Katy’s popularity really never got damaged by anyone. She just simply faded just like those pop stars before her. That’s why there’s a certain distinction for those artists who were able to remain relevant and popular for long time (Madonna, Taylor, Gaga)
