That's because she's contracted. Nothing more,  nothing less.

She’s also contracted to do album promotion. So that’s that

...no? That's not included in an album contract? Promo is bought.

I think it’s a matter of legacy and knowing with touring not starting for another year, it doesn’t sit right with her to just wing it right now. I think if she can, she should stick to her original plan, even that means waiting months to see it, because years from now that’s what will be remembered, not some Zoom performances.

Experts are now starting to say that touring will probably be further delayed to 2022... You can't base en entire album cycle on a potential brighter future. The album is out now, people have a short attention span (she should know, she made an entire album of 2 minutes or so songs with that in mind), so what is she waiting for?.... It's too bad she had an album release during these troubled times, but that's what it is, and she said she's used to rolling with the punches, so indefinitely waiting just doesn't make sense. Just do the best you can in the current context, and better luck next time. Also, the fans who bought tickets will be there when she tours, the same way they were at the BTWBall when it started a solid year after the release of the album.

If you ask me, it's already too late now: the album was released 2 months ago, allegedly to accommodate a new promo schedule, nothing ended up happening... I'm personally done expecting anything. How ironic doing nothing is what made her the biggest pop star on the planet again :triggered:

Right, the crisis in the US is likely to drag on far longer than originally estimated. It's devastating, and the situation is rapidly changing. It's hard to know what things will look like in a few months, let alone a year from now.

I think it's not so much waiting for things to be better, but knowing when the right time is. I don't think anyone really knows when that will be, except Gaga, and I take your point about it being too late. That's fair, but the world is on fire right now and I understand her hesitation. And I can't really imagine what it must be like to be in her shoes right now.

I have no expectations either, really. I have faith that she will release new content when she feels it's the right time. And it really is her decision above anyone else's. Truth is, she's not obligated to reveal any of her plans until she is ready.

That's right. But I guess what I mean is... it's never going to be the right time. And she's also really lucky to be in a position where her album is selling on its own and she doesn't have to do anything. It's not insensitive to keep the show going though, or to at least keep the fans informed. I think the absolute worse this era wasn't the lack of promo, but the lack of info.

First I was going to make a very long post. But you know, it's just a sh*t year. The next year will be too. Bye.

Do we need to look beyond covid ? She has at least one underlying condition, and this thing has killed 600k worldwide. Not trying to be patronising, but do we really need to look any further ?

honestly i think she’s traumatized by the amount of promo she did in the past and she’s enjoying isolation and not being able to do tv performances etc

I'm more concerned that she completely stopped communicating with the fans. She publishes exclusively all sorts of advertising posts...

Her fans cyber bully her all the time. I'd stop acknowledging them too if I were here :ohwell:

1) 2-3 magazine covers

2) A couple of interviews, including Graham Norton

3) Some social media posts

4) A live stream charity thing

5) 2 music videos, including Gagavision for SL, and a lyric video

I honestly don't understand the "Gaga hasn't done any promotion" when you look at the above. It's far less than normal, but considering the circumstances...kind of understandable. There are severe restrictions in California, which have only been lifted briefly, and if she had done more during the protests..she would have been eviscerated.

Also, she....doesn't really owe fans anything except to be polite in reasonable, professional situations (e.g. she doesn't have to be polite if people like rush her as she's leaving a hotel)...although it's nice if she's friendly in private situations even if she doesn't owe people that (and she usually is, like the jacket thing). Lots of celebs do even less promo than Gaga has done for Chromatica, such as Adele, Taylor during Reputation, and Beyonce.

Maybe she's having personal issues right now, maybe she's feels like she's done enough, maybe the leak kind of "ruined" the fun of the roll out, who knows? But considering all of the above, I wonder what fans expect her to do considering we have severe restrictions back in place in California. The only, only thing I can think of that Gaga might have been able to do is a few live performances via zoom.

Fans are different, you don't need to equate everyone with each other.

Yep. Plus that poster is wrong about it being all advertising...it's mostly music related stuff & BLM & charity with a few Haus Labs tweets thrown in (and a few ads).  She also was interacting with some fans when Chromatica first came out.

But honestly...who can blame her because the fans are just awful to her. Can't think of another celeb who has that type of fan base. I also think celebs—and not just Gaga cause I've noticed others have backed off too—are dialing back from twitter cause they sometimes get unfairly blamed for Stans acting like insane bullies.

There are maybe 10% who don't abuse her everyday. The rest are terrible people
