Smile #21 on Bubbling Under Hot 100

This whole album is promo singles. I would be so disappointed if half of a new Gaga album were songs that had already been released. She’s been trying to get something to stick for awhile now, just drop the damn album already.

I liked Witness era. I really did. I am not waiting this one. I adore Daisies. She got me thinking this is another PRISM era of hers. Bubbling how it should be. Down under. Rain on me. Keep streaming Chromatica. S-s-sour candy

With how much promo Smile's had, I thought it would debut higher than that. :cryga: I'm completely surprised

On a serious note, I do feel sorry for her.

It’s honestly sad how her career has turned out compared to Gaga’s, someone who has always been her contemporary and started up around the same time. :(

Well, it's a promo single, what can you do? :vegas:

911 hit #1 in Bubbling Under with 0 promo, not to mention Miss Alice debuting on the Hot 100 under the same circumstances. If I remember correctly, Gaga’s last promo single peaked at a cute #33 on the BB100

It means that David Rose shouldn’t worry so much because nobody is thinking about him the way he’s thinking about him. And remember, Alexis doesn’t skate through life; she walks through life in really nice shoes :billie:

I'm so confused about this album in so many ways. Smile is listed on Wikipedia as a single, but so many are saying that it's just a promo single. Is there going to be an official video for it as Katy suggested? It seems like an official video so I don't know why it's listed as a performance video. Is NRO technically considered the real lead single? Is this circus theme going to be present on more songs than just this one and the cover? Is she even planning on touring at any point with this? I can't help but feel that this album was chosen to be released now to allow her to use her pregnancy and the pandemic as excuses for why it isn't successful and why she doesn't tour with it.

They remind me of Madonna vs. Cyndi Lauper in the 80's and Britney vs Xtina in the 90's. All of them started out at the same time, they were compared constantly in the early days and one of the two became super successful legends who continue to have some level of success today whereas the other one had all their hits at the beginning of their career and then it fell away from them quite quickly. And the thing was, when Gaga was going through a downturn in 2013 and Katy had just achieved her ninth #1, it was kinda decided around this point that Katy, whether you liked it or not, was going to be the one to have the decades-long career and Gaga was just a flash in the pan. Then Gaga made a bit of a gradual return to form with Joanne and wowed at the SB and then Katy released Witness and the tables turned in a way no one could've predicted. Now Katy is struggling to even chart, which is worse than I could've ever predicted. You'd have to have a heart of stone not to feel for her. I thought she'd struggle to get top ten hits post-Witness but she's not even charting most of the time and her videos are performing terribly too. For this to happen just over a decade into your career when you used to be a chart monster is unbelievably sad. She must wonder constantly what she did for her fans to desert her like they have. Her downfall should be studied, honestly, because it's something that I think had a lot of factors that go beyond merely that haircut.
