JRCF29 8,230 Posted July 20, 2020 Share Posted July 20, 2020 Rapper and businessman Kanye West, who also stars alongside his wife and in-laws on E!'s blockbuster reality show 'Keeping up With The Kardashians', held a campaign rally in South Carolina Sunday but ultimately failed to get on the ballot after missing the deadline to file. The rally seemed to indicate that West was serious about pursuing a third-party bid for the highest office in the nation, but it quickly turned quite bizarre. First, the 'Stronger' singer seemed to totally reverse course on the issue of abortion- which just days ago he linked to the Devil and White Supremacy- by saying the procedure should remain legal but as an alternative pregnant mothers could be offered $1M by the U.S Government. Then, in a move that confused and angered many supporters in attendance, he launched into a rant about Harriet Tubman and Underground Railroad which apparently centered around Tubman selling- not saving- slaves. Such an assertion has no factual basis, and Tubman is widely considered to be one of the most influential members of the abolitionist movement, with a documented history of bringing together sympathetic homeowners to devise escape plans and routes for escaped Southern slaves.
