Why can Beyonce not promote an album but Gaga "has to?"

Honestly, the fact that Chromatica has been as successful and well-received as it has been without too much promo shows that she might not necessarily have to. As much as I would love performances, the fact that the album has proven her staying power in pop culture makes me so proud of her and happy to stan.

She did have plans tho like Coachella for exame and rumour was we were getting multiple videos

 

I think with Covid ruining the plans she was excited for she lost motivation and is too bumbed and depressed about the era she had planned out and had gotten excited about and now just doesn't care to even try

Yes but the question was why do fans feel Gaga HAS to do all that when Beyoncé does the minimum.

Because Beyonce is an established icon and legend in the music industry and does not need to do promo. She has nothing to prove anymore and anything she puts out and does becomes a big event without the need for excessive television appearances, radio promo, and interviews. Her refusal to do interviews and remain private out for the public eye has made her become a mystery and an enigma and heightened her celebrity status. Everyone is ready and anticipates what she will do next or put out. Beyonce does feed the beyhive. She puts out visual albums fkr the last decade and delivers the best live performances for any female artist.  Beyonce gives out a lot to her fans when keeping out of the public eye like many other desperate lesser pop singers.

To me the major reason is we now expect Bey to always drop visuals, documentaries and Performances. Promo isn’t needed because Beyoncé fans are already excited off the sheer knowledge of knowing her project is coming. If Gaga released a full visual album we wouldn’t need as much promo because we’d have so much to watch and analyze and enjoy.

Beyoncé is a legend in the music industry, she doesn’t have to promote anything, she is seen as a Goddess. Meanwhile, Gaga has not reached that status yet and perhaps needs to promote her stuff otherwise she will not stay relevant to the GP.

We all know Bey is like the Queen of.... But how and when did this happen? I mean 10 years ago she wasn't as big as she is now. When did she sudenly she recieve this status? She was then known for the same talend as she is now right? What changed? It's not a matter huge hits I guess. I feel like a big part of the gp only knows Single Ladies, a few other songs from the 2000's, and Run the World (girls).

I'm not sure the Coachella thing is true. Why would she say this when she could simply do it in October when Coachella takes place? 

Let's see how the whole era evolves if it does, but I wonder if there were really any big plans. The songs are so short that I can't help but feel like she did a commercial record on purpose so that she wouldn't have to promote it much. Which is fine, but I'm not the biggest fan of the album so far, that's why I'd love to see sone promo. It could change my perception of the record and make me enjoy it more

I guess the first reason is her longevity. The shift happened when “BEYONCÉ” came out I think. It's was a new way of promoting an album, and everyone was surprised and rushed to buy it as if anyone was hyped for it. And the quality was there. She was on a new kind of "calm peak" and she kept that strategy for Lemonade. No hits, but Bey has a new legacy and the way the public percieves her has changed (forever?)
