Because I don't care about Beyonce, and I care about Gaga :bear:

I don't want Gaga to promote to be more successful, I want her to promote because everything from her paparazzi shots to her performances are an event and makes everything so much more exciting, adds longevity to an era and will give us stuff to look back on in years to come.

Since 2016, Beyoncé has done Lemonade visual album, Everything Is Love, Homecoming live album, Lion King soundtrack and Lion King: The Gift, and the Black Is King movie, plus the Coachella documentary and 2 world tours. Then on top of that a handful of features and singles, photoshoots for her fashion line/magazines, and then she also posts very regular (and sickening) mini "photoshoots" on her instagram.

Even though she doesn't do regular promo, her fans are very much well fed.

Who cares about Beyonce? I ain't stanning her.

There is a reason why some of us become Gaga's fans, she always gives us something special to look forward to, visuals and performances. The good old days. It was so excited to be Gaga fans back then.

i guess cause she kinda started and there were a lot of expectations due to what insiders were saying was planned and then she just completely abandoned the whole thing. :(

If she didnt promote and gave us nothing from the start i think the conversation would look different

Lets not compare both artists. :huntyga:

Both artists reach that level of success to just drop an album with no promo. Gaga develops an entire era which why she promotes her album.

Beyonce has actually said that she never really felt comfortable/ enjoyed doing interviews so when she became ”big” enough she obviously cut out all the promo things that she didn’t enjoy and focused on things she likes to do (this doesn’t mean she doesn’t do promo cause she does)

So knowing that it always annoys me when people say that ”now that gaga is an icon she doesn’t have to do anything” it’s true but you can tell that Gaga loves performing live and she loves to explain and talk about her work so it is not a sin for fans to expect her to do that when clearly that has been her forte for so long.

I think Beyonce has essentially re-branded her marketing strategy ever since self-titled. Surprise drops, content and visuals through multiple means, and such. It probably helps that she has achieved really incredible "icon" status.

Gaga, while also in a similar echelon of "icon and legend" status, has also been slowly switching up her promotional strategy, but not quite as much as Beyonce's. She's not as ever-present as the first half of her career, and she's definitely much more lax with candids and interviews, but she still very much follows her traditional route of promotion.

Hell, for Chromatica, you could tell she was gonna go full-out traditional promotion. And then, nothing (understandable, though). I think it creates a different set of expectations from fans who want (and expect) more and more and more.

A great way to put it. Beyonce manages to give out consistent content in areas outside of what we consider "traditional album promotion". Gaga, on the other hand, mostly goes with that traditional route, but doesn't give as much content.

These two people are in different places completely.

Beyoncé have 20+ years of career. She is super established. And still going strong. So she have that kind of luxury, also because she have the public interest with her. Internet broke when she did anything about her solo project.

Beyoncé now is where Madonna was in early 2000s

Gaga have yet reaching that point. She have few spotty eras since 2013. She still had to work hard to reclaim interest from the masses. I would argue the latest single won't be as succesful as we know now if it's not because the major help from other fanbases to boost it either. Bitter fact.

This is why i dont listen to insiders also gaga didnt just abandon the whole thing it was because of the corona virus and blm so dont just put the blame all on her

By putting out visual albums B already saturates with content. Interviews and such become overkill to me. She’s already says EVERYTHING through the film. In my humble opinion ;-)

Because Gaga is so f*cking creative and her artistry goes beyond music, her art is very visual, her music is amazing, but when she add's the visual component, it just goes to another level, whether it's music videos, performances or simply her going out with an amazing outfit, we need this and I'm sure she does too.
