the best thing about Chromatica....

is the darkness of the lyrics contrasting with the upbeat nature of the music.

You just normally don't expect these types of lyrics from a pop star with this type of music. Gaga is still true to herself and writing about her reality, even through upbeat House influenced dance music.

It actually works really well IMO. Those surprised by the success of ROM in the latest megarate shouldn't be.... it's wrapping a lot of distress in a glossy package... a very relatable pure pop song with two talented singers ( although Ari could still use some lessons in enunciation).

This album is a grower for me, mostly because I've never been a huge fan of house style electronic.   But the production on Chromatica is very well done.

Best song for me  - Enigma.   RockGa comes out to play in her vocal performance.   I might have to source some vocal stems and remix as a metal song, :rockstar:

Worst song - Reductive, er, Babylon,

The entire second act is really good.  Could have been it's own EP.

Well, that's also what ARTPOP was, a dance relief

good point.  ARTPOP was much more raw though which is probably why I prefer it overall.   Chromatica is probably her most consistent album.  But while the entire "chromatica" album never falls below "good" (while ARTPOP has "fashion" *cough*) , it also never quite reaches the heights of ARTPOP or BTW, for me personally.
