“No matter gay, straight, or bi, lesbian, transgendered life”

The song can be interpreted in 2 ways.
Firstly at face value, such as being born black/white etc

but gaga said that the song is about being reborn over and over until you become the best version of yourself  which she showed in her grammy performance emerging from the vessel

I’ve always heard “transgender life”. Either way, she clearly meant this is a positive light

edit: genius confirmed its “transgender”

The booklet literally says transgendered.

I just think surely you would double check beforehand... you can tell she wrote it in 10 minutes, as she claimed at the time.

I do truly wish the song Born This Way didn’t exist, though.

Then you completely misunderstood the meaning of it lmao

No. As dramatic as it sounds, that song saved a lot of queer lives, including myself. I wasn't even a monster then but that specific song helped my 13 year old confused self from committing suicide. If that song didn't exist at the perfect time, I wouldn't be existing right now. It was my go to song whenever I feel dangerously down.

Idk what's printed in a booklet, but you can clearly hear Gaga say it without the "ed" in this performance. Skip to 3:00

I heard transgender :-/
