Spotify was not as popular back in 2016 during Joanne era as it is now, especially during a pandemic where everyone is doing nothing but streaming music/shows. if you wanna compare proper charting/sales i’d look more at iTunes/apple music stats over Spotify. MR only became a second single when A-Yo had low streams, so don’t act like Gaga didn’t equally go through the same scenario. besides, are we ever gonna get over streaming numbers/stan wars? little chartsters were pissed in 2013 when katy stans were saying “no excuses” to gaga’s chart sales and now y’all are saying it? our fanbase never learns just stream the damn song or don’t. Why does the pandemic factor into this? The pandemic affects literally everybody...including the ones who actually make it to the top 10.
