JRCF29 8,230 Posted July 16, 2020 Share Posted July 16, 2020 Yesterday, a major hack took Twitter by storm and resulted in all verified, or blue-checked, members being blocked from posting for a few hours. Uber and Apple were among the big companies targeted, while celebrities including Kanye West and Warren Buffett- and former Preisdent Obama- were also victims. Tweets were posted from the hacked accounts directing users to a bitcoin transaction site, ostensibly to "give back" to communities during the pandemic. The hackers netted $121,000 total, which experts say was a measly haul given the sophistication and scope of the attack. True tragedy The scammer was probably a right winger, hence the only people who were attacked were “liberals” or people perceived to be “liberal tech” CEO’s.
