Ontario will announce plans on Monday to move forward to Stage 3

Webb7

CTV News Toronto has also learned Ontario will enter Stage 3 through a regional approach like it did when entering Stage 2.

According to the government's framework for reopening the province, which was released in April, Stage 3 would allow for all businesses to reopen and further restrictions eased on the size of social gatherings.

Large public gatherings, such as concerts and sporting events will continue to be restricted for "the foreseeable future."

What types of businesses could reopen?

Stage 3 could involve the reopening of businesses like movie theatres, gyms, fitness studios, casinos, amusement parks, indoor dining and bars.

They have all been shut since the Ontario government ordered all businesses to close in March.

So far British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan are in stage 3

Well my area will probably be one of the last to enter stage 3 considering Toronto and Peel Region were the hot spots along with Winsor :toofunny:

But glad to see stuff continues to go in right direction and so far re-opening has not been leading to an increase in cases and test and contact tracing is working to prevent outbreaks!

The Atlantic Provinces in the East continue to have borders closed to rest of Canada since they been having like no cases. Smart for them to continue that way

Unpopular opinion, all countries should go back into red zone. Things are worse than they were 3 months ago.

On a serious note it would be better if the US can keep their act together for our economy

I agree. A few months of 100% total lockdown and this thing is over. Not the most economically sound but it's got to be better than years and years of "maaayyybe it's safe now? Yeah I thi- WAIT GO BACK INSIDE!.......how about now? :gum: NOPE!"

It even worse in our country. Only in the US we believe a global pandemic is over when we want it to be. :emma:

I dunno. A single undetected case is all it would take to start it all over again

I'd take the economy on the brink of total collapse with a very high risk that you still wouldn't erraticate it

This spreads too easily given its new. I'm not sure a full lockdown would get rid of it fully
