Like, she's not even hiding to anyone she's living for hits, and it can be a bit of a turnoff. You can get served your favorite meal everyday and be pretty happy about it for a while, but after a few years you kinda wanna taste something else. It seems to me she's teased different, darker, more serious eras every album cycle, and yet she keeps coming back with the exact same formula. Taylor’s music might be stale for some but people do really consider her as relatively a genuine artist. With that comes goodwill from the public and pop consumers. Katy doesn’t have those two. This is also basically the advice that Tony gave Gaga, to not rely solely on the popstar shtick because one day the hype would slightly drop & she’s going to only need her talent to bring her center stage & I feel like she found that medium, Katy’s career is more aligned with pure pop/teen pop style. Katy relied too much on the GP, and eventually people moved onto the next trendy artist. The Top 40 has radically changed in the last years, and mostly in the US. Rap/trap is the new pop music. Just like pop did to rock music some years ago. And you can add to that this pandemic, the social movements, so a music chart is gonna reflect that very thing. Katy has some fans, but not to the same proportion of people like Gaga or Taylor Swift do, so the support for her music is not gonna be the same. And additionally to that, her music remains the same so people lost interest for her as an artist. It's kinda sad because she's a talented girl, but she needs to switch/revamp her style. Unfortunately, Katy has failed to reinvent herself after all of these years and that definitely contributes towards the decline in her popularity Nonetheless, I’m gonna keep supporting the good sis.
