It's funny that you brought up Gaga because the most famous example I can think of them being officially referred to as it was at the Grammys when they were introduced to present an award after Lady Gaga. And they had registered the term "Lady A" with the U.S trademark office without objection a decade ago. I hear radio DJs call them that also.

We don't call Gaga "gags" in as prolific, widespread, or frequent a way in which FKA Lady Antebellum's fanbase did either. And this other Lady A(nita White) is asking the band for $10M, which is much more than I'm sure she's ever made in her life seeing as how literally no one knew her before this episode

Antebellum is another word for the "glory age" of the south. Antebellum South would be what you should look for, not just "Antebellum". 

It's associated with vast mansions, debutantes and their coming out parties, and of course, the slavery needed to keep white man in luxury. 

It's not an immediate connotation but it's there.
