This makes no sense because Madonna received massive (sexist and ageist) backlash, and just because her album is charting at 198 in Tajikistan doesn’t mean that it’s “trending” 🥴

It's not like everyone in the world saw Madonna's photo and instantly went and bought her music. It's probably more or less her own fans. 

And she showed her body on her personal instagram, not the Superbowl stage. 

I don't agree with what happened to Janet, but these are two entirely different situations.

Making points by using a false equivalency? Janet Jackson had an uptick in album sales after nipple-gate too. Has Madonna's topless Instagram photo led to radios supporting her recent album? To Spotify placing her on more playlists? Fans buying albums =/= industry support. Les Moonves essentially had Janet blacklisted and I think he would've done the same to any female musician in Janet Jackson's shoes. I just don't get the comparison I guess...

Well, maybe because this happened to Janet Jackson in the early 2000s and Madonna posted the pic in 2020?

Also Madonna already got lots of backlash for Erotica etc. Nobody's shocked because of her showing nudes anymore. 
 

Still it's obviously unfair that Janet was cancelled (and JT wasn't)
