This. Normally, I'm not one for people speculating but a) he's been open about having mental illness in the past and b) he's obviously acting extremely unwell with the "mark of the devil, Birthday party" sh*t. It's not inappropriate to say "look, he doesn't seem okay and this media coverage seems to be exploitative."

Bipolar doesn’t mean you need to be locked up in a white room with a straight jacket on. You can very much still be a functioning member of society. What happened “destigmatizing mental health”? He really didn't drag him.
xoxo Craig 55,649
I think its important to talk about mental health. How can we get rid of the stigma if we never talk about it? We can all see signs of mental health issues appearing in Kanye, and I think the more people that 'call it out' (for lack of a better term), the more people can realise it on someone else and take the first steps on helping that person. Or, the person who is going through what they are going through realises it which is the first step, and then put steps in place to get the help they need. Calling someone untreated and “in danger” seems off-putting and clearly shows cases that the person speaking literally knows nothing about mental health. Why is it Madeon’s place to speak on behalf of Kanye’s mental health? Like i said, being Bipolar does not mean you’re impaired. You can still be a functioning person in society and even president if you choose to be. Ultimately, I don’t think assuming a psychological professional’s role and talking about another person’s mental illness is anything to celebrate. Altogether, I think there’s a lot of hypocrisy on this site when it comes to compassion and understanding towards mental illness. They like to flip flop depending on who the person is. Can I just say that you cannot just "choose" to be a functioning person living with bipolar. For some, bipolar is debilitating. It is a spectrum of severity and thus is a case by case issue. One things clear which is bipolar disorder is one where you need to stay on your mood stabilizers on a daily basis in order to keep your mental health in check. Sad thing is, most bipolar folks I've worked with hate their meds because it makes them feel like zombies, numb, lethargic, tired etc. And for that reason bipolar is one of those disorders which sees a lot of med non-compliance and thus lots of difficulty maintaining stability. Without those meds, manic episodes and depressive episodes are inevitable. I think when he said "untreated" he's insinuating Kanye is off his meds. Now, we don't know if that's speculation or if madeon has knowledge were not privy too. I don't think you need to be a psychological professional to discuss mental health. In fact, I think discussion of mental health is a good thing because it actually takes away from the stigma by bringing it out of the dark, taboo area of what's allowed to be talked about. You asking everybody to cease and desist talking about the mental health of a person who is playing games with this country by running for president driven by his narcissm and delusions of grandeur doesn't really make sense to me.
