Hybrid AT 78 Posted October 2, 2020 Share Posted October 2, 2020 Contrary to popular opinion here and elsewhere, I think the recent Chromatica Billboards are genius and an excellent way to campaign. Not only are they FYC for the Grammy voters to show them that the album has a very strong intention and a purpose behind it (pretty sure they sent these in letter-size to the voters), they also did an amazing job repurposing it as these huge billboards to set them up in public spaces. These double as feel-good empowerment messages for the GP but then if you think about it, her team isn't necessarily trying to get a lot of people to notice and read it (since the font is too small to read for the naked eye and there's a lot of whitespace). But having them in public can show the voters that they're making a sincere effort to uplift people and make them feel better during these tough times. It's a great message that works to build up a lot of goodwill among the voters. GP noticing it and liking it is just a plus. Just my two cents on this.
