Similar to what @Xoxo Adriana said, which I totally agree with, I don't think you should have to change your username either. Unless, you feel the absolute need to which of course...go for it! I've come to try to detach myself from the creators and their work with how many problematic things are happening in the world. It shouldn't take away from these characters that you've grown to love.

This entire situation though is...insane to me. I really did not expect this from her. Disappointed is an understatement.

Devil’s advocate here! I think (at least in this instance) she’s trying to say that she believes kids who haven’t fully cognitively developed shouldn’t be fed hormones by overzealous doctors who just want to “fix” them and get them the hell out the door, but what they really needed was a psychiatrist. It’s pretty hard to reverse certain things if it turns out the person wasn’t actually trans, that opens the door of her calling trans people mentally ill though. But, on the other hand where does she get off on unloading this nonsense on trans kids whose lives are literally saved because they go through HRT otherwise they’d probably end up giving up, if you know what I mean. 

All in all, she’s shared plenty of TERF nonsense in the past to convince me that she’s no trans ally, but YMMV. 
 

Edit* By the way, I’m not defending the f’ed up nonsense she’s said in recent past, I just think she’s trying to open up a conversation on queer mental health in a really bad manner!

that’s completely ok and no you didn’t offend me at all. i’ve had a number of users on here jump on me as if i’m defending her when i’m saying the opposite so you can imagine how annoying it is for me shiskd 

i understand now, since u came on here after the title change and didn’t know i was trans, and that’s totally ok so no need to apologise i didn’t mean to come off as aggressive so my sincere apologies

I have seen videos from detransitioners. If you look at many of their old videos when they were trying to get hormones they said it was very hard to get hormones.  They talk about the the process of getting them and how stressful it was. Their story changed when they detransitioned. Many people detransition say they did so because of how they were treated by their families, friends, and community, not because they are not trans. There are exceptions to this but many experience more transphobia and are pushed back deeper into the closer.  Some people have to detransition for their safety. Other people detransition because they can not afford hormones, or they realize hormones did not give them the satisfaction they thought it would. Sometimes detransitioning happens because change does not happen as quickly for them and they feel the hormones are not working. Many trans people do not want hormones because they are content with how they look now, but feel they need hormones to validate to society that they are trans or their country or state requires them to be on hormones to change their legal gender id. There are many reasons why people detransition and the people who do destransition are a very, very, very small number percentage. The process is never easy for anyone whether they are trying to get hormones or get off of them.
