I believe her label would of wanted to push something like Nothing On more. I think every time Gaga wants to work with the black community, her fanbase is so opinionated she ends up paying dust to those songs. I mean... It's not our fault if she picked a raper to sing one of her top 5 songs, it has nothing to do with the color of his skin everybody loved that song

Every time Gaga creates song with a Black artist or makes music that caters to the black community (she has a lot of Black fans too). Those are the songs this fanbase always are very critical on. So in a way some fans are to blame.
LaLuna 12,732
It wouldn't be so bad without the rappers. I hate collabs with rappers, it's such a tired formula.

I like EDM and thanks to Gaga for helping me like the genre more. But I don’t understand the hype for EDM or how fans here praise it. I think ARTPOP stans are kinda hypocritical too. I been to 2 artRAVE shows and both crowds didn’t move to JnD but was excited for Partynauseous (another pop trap song). For me, EDM feels like an escape. It instantly makes me feel better. Like when I think of EDM music, or dance music, it gives me very positive energy, and positive vibes. So if I'm feeling down, it will automatically bring me to a place were I feel happy again. Its created to bring people to a dance floor, but for me, my room is my dance floor. Its not the only genre I listen to, but its probably the best genre that could envoke a positive emotion out of me. And at the end of the day, why do we listen to music? We listen to feel, we listen to help our way out of certain emotions or relate to certain emotions, we listen to enjoy. I have a HUGE soft spot for 90s House/Dance music... especially those songs which use powerhouse vocalists. As much as I love to feel though the beat and stuff, a good vocal that has SOUL coming from their necks is the epitome of eargasim in my opinion. Those 90s house tracks, or 70s disco tracks revamped or remix into a 90s house track is my musical g-spot if there was one. I love disco too, but not as much because it is slower than dance music but all the other qualities I love. Modern day EDM music is still great, especially if they take elements from old school classics and bring them to the forefront. When pop music is done right, it has those elements of EDM music... but watered down. Which is why love pop music. What Gaga does is so different. She has huge powerful vocals (she knows how to blow, and the different textures of her voice), she writes incredible strong lyrics which can be relatable, she brings elements of dance (from all facets) among other genres and creates masterpieces from them, she just has the full package. Chromatica has EVERYTHING that I could possibly love the most about music. Everything. Conceptually brilliant, lyrically amazing, vocally impeccable, sound completely up my ally. Its THE album for me. It doesn't sound dated, but you can tell theres old school sounds in there but 100% updated. ARTPOP... I think it just didn't go there. Its an amazing album for sure, but the beats aren't organic nor were they actually updated for its time. Listening in 2020 it does sound very dated. But its a great album. I think theres a general hype among gays fro EDM music. Its either EDM or Lana Del Rey type of music. I think the reason for that is different to mine... I get the impression that gay culture thrives of the club scene, and they want to be able to vogue and throw shapes like they are performing and stuff . So I guess thats where it comes from? You're right about it being very hypocritical... they don't like Jewels & Drugs, but wanna bop to Partynauseous which is trap/pop/rap/hip hop. People slate JND for the lyrics, but people don't appreciate that beat. Its nasty, its so good but yeah, it is hypocritical. End Racism Now

That's not a good comparison Only Blackpint stans cared about them before sour candy. ARTGOD 3,266
It’s amazing . The instrumental is absolute insanity from beginning to end, the lyrics are so fun and ridiculous and the mix of trap and EDM was really well done. It’s definitely one of the hardest BANGERS on the album. ARTPOP is really a 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9 punch for me .
Blown Away 5,218
Because y'all hate hip hop-ish beats. The lyrics aren't good but the instrumental slaps the hardest of all ARTPOP songs. The song is a solid 8/10. They shipped it, but it got shipped back

ImTired 3,955
It doesn't belong on ARTPOP. I wish Interscope would have let her do a hip hop lp or something. She obviously wanted to do hip hop songs around that time. Cake. Her collabs with Kendrick and Azealia. This song. It would have been more appropriate I think. vVv 63
I think it's a decent song and very different from her other songs, which is what is cool about it. Not my favorite song but I don't hate it.

latina twilight 2,319
I don't dislike the song at all, I have defended it multiple times... but, to me, the problem is the lyrics and the try-hard feeling on the whole track. It really feels like she/they wanted the song to fit so bad in certain rap stereotype, but it doesn't feel genuine and it seems like a parody of the genre. I compare it to Cake Like Lady Gaga. That song is definitely for fun purposes and was not something that was put out for a serious release. JND has pretty much the same vibe to it, but was released offically and promoted. That makes the public enjoy the first one by a lot, because we all know it's just for fun. However, the instrumental for JND is AMAZING, and the production is top notch. Not a bad song at all. "YOU USED TO BE SO KIND, I NEVER KNEW YOU HAD SUCH A DIRRTY MIND".
