The album is the follow-up to Fergie's massively successful The Dutchess, which spawned 3 US number one hits (London Bridge, Glamorous, Big Girls Don't Cry) along with 2 top five hits (Fergalicious, #2 and Clumsy, #5) Work for the album begun in 2011, after the release of the Black Eyed Peas' album The Beginning, and continued up until 2017. By that time the album had already spawned 3 singles, but as none of them were a massive success the album kept getting delayed. In 2017 it finally saw its release. Along with the album a Double Dutchess: Seeing Double visual was released, making Double Dutchess Fergie's first visual album. The album was produced by various collaborators, including Polow Da Don (London Bridge and Glamorous), will.i.am (Fergalicious and Clumsy), Toby Gad (Big Girls Don't Cry) and notably Fergie herself. It was supported by 5 singles with first lead single L.A. Love being the most successful, cracking the top 30 in the US and top 3 in the UK. Two years later M.I.L.F.$ followed, which cracked the top 40. Subsequent singles Life Goes On and You Already Know failed to make any impact anywhere. To conclude the era A Little Work served as the fifth single in North America, while Save It Til Morning was released overseas as the last single. Other tracks on the album include promotional single Hungry, a collaboration with rapper Rick Ross, as well as Enchanté, a song that features her son Axl Rose Duhamel. That being said, its lack of success doesn't speak for the amount of quality songs on this record. Just sit back, put your headphones on and enjoy the album!
