JRCF29 8,168
I don't know where/how to tag this The New England Patriots signed Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton to a 1-year, $7.5M contract over the weekend. Newton will replace Tom Brady, the former Patriots QB who spent 20 years (!) with the team and led them to six Super Bowl wins. Newton, like Brady, is a former league MVP and is no stranger to playoff appearances himself (though his record is just a tad less stellar than Brady's.) For the Patriots, the signing is a low-cost way to pad their depth chart as Newton's deal reportedly sets a large portion of the $7.5M aside for incentive-based bonuses. How much is guaranteed is unclear. Personally, I'm skeptical of Newton's ability to fit in with the Patriot way; we don't really tolerate some of the egotistical antics or immature media meltdowns, both of which Newton is somewhat synonymous with these days. I hope it works out and I'm glad that it's not costing us a lot. I just want Brady and Gronk back tbh Story Don't Call Me Gaga
