Through a mod!

https://www.fanbyte.com/news/persona-4-golden-yosuke-romance-mod/

Persona 4 Golden was released to Steam recently. Which opened the floodgates for modifications, as PC releases tend to do.

For those not in the know, Yosuke, your best bud, partner in crime, and obviously more homosexual than Troye Sivan, was meant to be a romance option in Persona 4, even having voiced lines. For some reason, he was not implemented despite a lot of the game pointed towards him being an armored closet bisexual at least.

The mod is currently only 10% complete, uploaded on gamebanana.

Cool, I guess. I remember liking Persona 3 so much more playing as the female protagonist and having the option to romance Akihiko or Shinjiro which actually made me like their characters more.

It's a shame the developers of these games are set in their ways regarding same-sex romance options and the only LGBT representation comes in the form of stereotypes.

Unfortunately Atlas has such a questionable relationship with lgbt characters I'm surprised the scrapped Yosuke content got as far in development as it did :(

I'm happy modders are on the case though; this was literally my first thought when I saw it was coming to steam!

Fortunately the main developer of Persona 3-5 has left. So someone else is helming the development of Persona 6.
