HausOfAntonio 8,021
Babylon might have had a chance to compete if it actually hit the 3 minute mark But honestly Babylon could’ve gone from already amazing to absolutely legendary if it were longer and had the bridge it deserved. The overall vibe of the song.. I get chills just thinking about it. 1 minute ago, Veerce said: Really trying to destroy this fanbase with such questions....AAAH! INNA 3,692
I think that I like them equally although they each belong in different categories. They are both lyrically/delivery wise extremely gay which makes me love them more. DITD is darker obvi and is kind of a “listen to what I have to say” commentary song on how fame (moreso the things that come with it, money, power, sex, drugs, mental illness) can kill even the brightest stars. Babylon on the other hand is airy feeling in comparison to that. It’s silly, a party vibe, kind of just saying that humans have always been partying hard and we won’t ever stop because it’s a part of us to celebrate and to rejoice in art, music and of course one another. Something I’m just realizing is that it could be interpreted as a “one love” kind of message, that we’re all different but we have that common ground of wanting to live it up. I will say though that in terms of mass relativity, boppery and the mental images that it produces, Babylon takes the cake there. It’s a broader topic than DITD and is infectious on first listen. It’s a fun Gaga song that has the added bonus of her more recent state of maturity which takes it to the next level. Like it she sounds like she’s joking but the message is there to live your life right now instead of waiting on the right time. fragment-fragment--bul-uh...scab-uh..fragment-foot, bullet fragment foot bich!
