Both have great prechorus's and the actually chorus's are very not lyrically dance and the focus is more on the music with some minor backing vocals. lets look at them side by side JW: prechorus "every John is just the same I'm sick of their city games I crave a real wild man I'm strung out on John Wayne Chorus dat do de de do x2 baby lets get high, John Wayne" SL: prechorus "all I ever wanted was love (hey ya hey woo hoo etc.) x2 chorus I want your stupid love, love x2" I've seen a lot of different people say Stupid Love doesn't have a chorus- when in fact it does, it's just a lyrically stripped down chorus that focus's on the music. All that being said, I prefer John Wayne over stupid love in general. but Stupid Love is not the first time Gaga had a chorus with very little lyrics. ♥ Kindness Police. It's not It's just not The pre-chorus and chorus, sure, aren't anything great (lyrically speaking), but also, they're not meant to be. Those sections focus more on the instrumentation rather than the lyrics. SL's verses are up to par with all of her other songs: You're the one that I've been waiting for Gotta quit this cryin' Nobody's gonna heal me if I don't open the door Kinda hard to believe, gotta have faith in me Now it's time to free me from the shame I gotta find that peace Is it too late or could this love protect me from the pain?
